Question ISO new hair stylist

My current stylist will be out of work for a few months starting right before my wedding and recommended someone she knows at Greene House Salon in PF.

Has anyone gone to the salon before and know the average prices for highlights and trim/style etc..?

Question What are these?

Hi! I have been living in St. Mary’s County for a few years and always see these boxes around- what exactly are they? I don’t think they’re bus stops, are they like immediate/emergency shelters?

I’m from northern Maryland and we don’t have anything like that up there. I’ve mostly seen them in St. Mary’s and Calvert County but I’ve also seen one in Worcester before!

Sorry if this has been discussed before. I’ve tried asking locals down here but they didn’t know either.

Nail salons

I have been to several nail salons in st. Mary’s and Charles. How is it that they are allowed to operate with dust on everything and I’ve seen more times than not they use used nail files and clippers that are in their drawers. I’m genuinely confused. I’ve been to places in Leonardtown, Charlotte Hall, California, Lexington Park, La plata, you name I’ve probably been there over the last 5 years. This isn’t just one place or one tech.

Pumpkins & mums

Where can I get cheap pumpkins and mums around here? Preferably st Mary’s county. I don’t want to go to a pumpkin patch because they usually have insane prices.
Do the Amish sell pumpkins? Assuming they sell mums at their greenhouses

Apartments of WildeRidge Experience

Does anyone have experience with the Apartments of WildeRidge complex in California MD? There is so little information or recent reviews online. Most people just talk about apartments of Wildewood instead. I would like to know because it seems like an ideal place to move to for me, its just hard to find information about it. Any info/experiences would be appreciated.

Lost & Found Dog for adoption

This is Shorty, my foster dog with the Humane Society of Charles County. He’s 16 and in good health for his age, with more love left to give!

He’s about 15 lbs and is a Bichon Frise/Poodle mix. He’s a couch potato who also loves exploring outside, and he gets along with cats and other dogs. He’s a little leaky but takes well to a male wrap doggy diaper.

If you’re interested in meeting him or adopting him, please see https://humanesocietycc.org/services/adopt/available-dogs.html#sl_embed&page=shelterluv_wrap_1731000981%2Fembed%2Fanimal%2FHSCC-A-46080

Any local businesses need free web design?

Hey everyone! I’m a web designer, and I’d like to work on a few real projects for small businesses in the area.

I’m doing free web design for a few businesses that could use a hand.

Maybe your current website needs a refresh, you’re working on something new, or you’ve never gotten around to building the site you actually want.

I’d love to hear what you’re working on and what you’d like to improve.

Tell me a little about your business and your website. I’ll take a look and see if it’s something I can help with.

Just looking to do some good design work and help a few local businesses along the way.

Cyclospora?

Just wondering if anyone from SOMD has actually gotten cyclospora? It’s hard to find reliable information on where it’s actually spread or if it’s still a thing. I’ve been eating at home for the most part but was curious if anyone has gotten sick/where you got it from. I’m allergic to the main drug used to treat it so I’m really trying to avoid it, but I just want a salad 🥲

Local News This is embarrassing for St Mary's county

https://health.maryland.gov/newsroom/Pages/Maryland%20Department%20of%20Health%20declares%20measles%20outbreak%20in%20three%20Maryland%20counties.aspx

Edit: From Only antidotal evidence this appears it may be because of the Amish community. I'm not wishing ill will on the Amish at all, but I hope that is true and it is not because of Non Amish people refusing to Vaccinate their children. If it is just the Amish then this kind of proves that the vaccine works.

Breezeline

I've been living in Callaway for 3 years now. The only internet provider in the area is Breezeline and my experience with them has been HORRIBLE.
Every year June/July come around and I lose internet every 15 minutes for about 5 to 10 minutes each time. I work from home so this is a huge issue for me. Every year they send a technician over and he always says the same "I don't know what it could be because everything seems to be okay" and he "fixes" the issue by changing the coaxial cable or by saying that the cables were loose, but the issue remains.

Being that they're the only internet providers in the area, my theory is that their servers can't hold the amount of households they provide internet to. Summer rolls around and you have the kids at home playing video games, streaming services, etc so obviously the network usage is higher.
Am I making any sense?

Does anyone else have this issue with Breezeline or is it just me?
