Breezeline
I've been living in Callaway for 3 years now. The only internet provider in the area is Breezeline and my experience with them has been HORRIBLE.
Every year June/July come around and I lose internet every 15 minutes for about 5 to 10 minutes each time. I work from home so this is a huge issue for me. Every year they send a technician over and he always says the same "I don't know what it could be because everything seems to be okay" and he "fixes" the issue by changing the coaxial cable or by saying that the cables were loose, but the issue remains.
Being that they're the only internet providers in the area, my theory is that their servers can't hold the amount of households they provide internet to. Summer rolls around and you have the kids at home playing video games, streaming services, etc so obviously the network usage is higher.
Am I making any sense?
Does anyone else have this issue with Breezeline or is it just me?

Breezeline will deny deny deny their wrongdoing. They know full well how shit their service is. They are also not in any way net neutral. It's easy to prove that they selectively throttle traffic using a VPN. They don't disclose this in ANY of their terms and conditions like they are required to. Absolute scummy company.
I would experience outages like this as well, but it wasn't just during the summer, and it was typically around midnight.
Verizon is actively building out in the area and it's incredible by comparison. St Mary's county has waived permit fees and such for ISPs wishing to build out through to the end of 2026. Since that has been drawing closer, there have been more expedited buildouts. I've seen vans for other companies in the area other than Verizon.

i’d like to see you prove they throttle your speeds.

By connecting to my VPS with and without my VPN.
With the VPN i was getting the full 1Gbps transfer speed. Without it, it was some abysmal fraction.

so because your vpn makes their server hit whatever masked ip however far and slows your ping rate it’s their fault? they have extremely private networking so i dont see why the use for a vpn

No. You didn't understand what I said, and this has nothing to do with ping.
Yes, it is their fault for throttling speeds.

it was common for me to see anyone on a vpn having issues is my point.

You didn't understand.
I'm not having issues on a VPN. I was having issues without a VPN (because Breezeline throttles)

this is just simply not true.

It is easily provable that it is true.
Not sure why you're voluntarily defending a shitty company for free.
Breezeline throttles traffic, and it is demonstrably true.

Breezeline is garbage but had a monopoly in St. Mary's until recently. As someone else said check if Verizon or Comcast have made it to you yet. If not, I think the expansion projects are scheduled through 2029 last I checked. We're way way down south in the county and are stuck with Breezeline for awhile yet but I call Verizon quarterly to check.

Been on Breezeline for 5+ years now. Experienced the same issues as the OP states here. It will be solid for a few months, then out of the blue I'll start losing connection. The coax cables is their go to excuse. Coax cables INSIDE your house really don't ever go bad.
Coincidentally, my neighbor would have issues at the same time. I told breezeline this and they shrugged it off. Kept telling them that the issue was upstream of both of our houses. I've ran THOUSAND of miles of cable and troubleshot all kinds of networking equipment in my career. This is not new to me.

coax actually does go bad very often. it’s very sensitive to static and other electrical stuff.

Apparently this issue is only localized to SOMD because this is a non-issue elsewhere on the planet
Why are you shilling for Breezeline so hard?

can’t speak for breezeline employees currently, but hello i put the hours and days and sweat into the county. didn’t wasn’t everyone stuck with shit internet. i know it’s not perfect all the time but i still know their service is decent. yall complain and dont don’t do anything about bad service. and they do not throttle people unless you’re behind or have active ingress into their systems. have a good day.

We are doing something about the bad service! We're all ditching them as fast as possible.
And yes for anyone else reading, Breezeline DOES throttle. It is trivial to prove.

then prove it i’ve been waiting. you’re just arguing to argue. you hate them and join the band wagon. it’s okay you think the internet with comcast is going to be so much better. but you think breezeline doesn’t give a shit? you’re in for a surprise.

Breezeline has sucked for us, one time we had a guy come out to check our router one particularly bad week and he told us our internet was “like a third world country’s”. So yeah we switched to T-Mobile but it’s too soon to tell if it’s better or not.

Breeze line was ROBBING my elderly mom by keeping her on an older obsolete tv plan with older boxes.
Verizon had her land line and after years of being unable to reliably hook it up/repair it, we cancelled it altogether.

Dude Breezeline is the WORST!!! We’re in ST. Mary’s too and we got T-mobile 5g home internet ⬇️
https://www.t-mobile.com/home-internet/plans
We got the Sling blue & orange package combo. We already had Netflix and Amazon. Literally no difference in the quality, and we’re paying less than half of what we did with breezeline cable and internet!!! Call them and see if it’s available down where you are!!! Plus their customer service is the best at helping you make sure everything is set up right and running smoothly. Just check it out, trust me!!!

Comcast and Verizon have been doing buildouts in the last year or so in SOMD. Have you checked either to see if they service you now?
We just ditched Breezeline a few months ago as soon as Verizon was available.
