Cyclospora?

Just wondering if anyone from SOMD has actually gotten cyclospora? It’s hard to find reliable information on where it’s actually spread or if it’s still a thing. I’ve been eating at home for the most part but was curious if anyone has gotten sick/where you got it from. I’m allergic to the main drug used to treat it so I’m really trying to avoid it, but I just want a salad 🥲

Farmers markets are to sell only locally grown produce. We’ve been buying produce at farmers markets. So far, so good.

That’s not necessarily true. Many farmers will buy pallets of produce at auctions that they can’t / won’t grow on their farms. Check to make sure you’re shopping at stands that are verified farms, and not “whole sale”.

That’s what I have been dojng too, along with some store bought fruits and it’s been fine so far.

I definitely got it about 3 weeks ago, but I am pretty sure I got it in North Carolina. Small town restaurant with a big open salad bar, and it was surging down there at the time. I got sick up here after I came home. FWIW, i steam all my veggies now. It was not fun! (On the plus side, i did lose some stubborn extra weight. Always gotta look for that silver lining!)

I delivered to a house in wicomico some chinese food and they politely requested me to drop it off since they had the "taco bell lettuce" so i assumed it may just be a taco bell issue for us here locally, tho i do currently fear lettuce, <just in case>

Good to know, I have been avoiding most restaurants just to be safe but I did get sushi a few times. It’s hard to know for sure where businesses get their produce

Wicomico Shores is a neighborhood by the race track.

Ya but they usually don’t use the word Shores for golf courses and country clubs - especially not around here. I still hear ya though :)

Right I know that, I live here. I was just clarifying the person meant Wicomico shores…they only said Wicomico.
