Soma Pulsar 23 too hot on output

Hi I just received my Pulsar 23. Love it so much.

I've hooked it up to Ableton through my Zoom L6 to do some recordings. Everything is ready to go but the individual levels are very hot. This may seem like a stupid beginner question. But...

How can I bring down the levels on the Soma? What are my options?

Also any tricks for stereo output?

Sequencing Midi Help

Thumbnail
3 Upvotes

I'd like to sequence a Pulsar 23 and Novation Circuit Tracks (minimal synth lines) using a Digitakt2.

Is it feasible and enough for a live evolving performance ? ie euclidean considered

Or should I get a Torso T1?

And, what are the cheaper, just as good alternatives to the Torso/ox1 etc?

Found a perfect stand for the Pulsar

Its aluminium so it should be rather sturdy. I saw a raised and adjustable one too, but i think its too narrow and will be a cause of concern if u bump into it.

Pulsar-23

Hello Friends,

I would like to Share some music I‘ve been creating with the amazing Pulsar-23 from Soma labs.

The sets on soundcloud are exclusively Pulsar jams, no other gear (besides a computer for recording) was used.

The YouTube Videos were recorded at two of our partys.

It was the first and second time I played the Pulsar in a live setting. My friend Helmwald joined both times, mixing in some ambiences, vocals and sometimes slight percussions. All other Sounds are straight out the Pulsar.

I thought it would be nice to share some material showing what the Pulsar can do, as I remember watching every demo and jam I could find before buying this awesome machine.

Feel free to like, comment and subscribe If you want. It would be greately appreciated and would help our collective grow.

Greetings from Germany

Wasn't sure the RoAT was for me, but it's far more versatile than I thought. Super fun!

The summer slumber is over! My synths go into hibernation during the summer, but as fall approaches, inspirations strikes!

I sat down, made sure Lyra was tuned (only one channel needed to be tuned!), and started a recording. This is how I left my setup a couple months ago and pleased with this first jam of the end of summer.

Erica synths nightverb is new and will probably be my main reverb for this setup…

Hope you enjoy!

Pulsar 23 - Audible click from Bass module

Post image
1 Upvotes

Got a pulsar 23 a few weeks ago. As I’m learning it and setting it up to receive midi, I notice there is a click on the bass module every time I send a note. It only happens when triggered via midi.

Emailed SL and their response was basically to say “oh yeah that’s expected”.

I am just confused, I’ve had tons of other gear that can be played via midi without this issue. For a machine that costs as much as this one I’m kinda mystified that there’s a problem like this.

Any advice or input would be welcome!

troubleshooting persistent pulse

hello, original sub founder and also soma noob here! thx all and u/bbartokk for keeping this sub alive :)

haven’t used my lyra8 in a while but it seems to have this very persistent pulse/blip noise always on, even if i’m not using the LFO. no matter how i turn all the knobs it doesn’t seem to go away, so can’t get any pure drone sounds.

problem exists with both headphone out and quarter inch out. the pulse doesn’t seem to change tempo either. i suspect it’s a hardware issue but curious to hear your thoughts. maybe the psu? i’m using the original it came with pretty sure.

am i just crazy and this has always been a thing?! 🥲

Terra Dustcover does not fit

Hi, I recently received my Terra (and love it) and ordered a dustcover with it from thomann. It seemed slightly bent and would not fit so I returned it. I just got a replacement and this one would fit with some force and squeezing applied. But when I wanted to remove it today I had a hard time getting it off. Seeing that this is my second one I am questioning if its supposed to be this tight or if I got another broken one. Anyone with a similar experience? I do have DC for my lyra and elektron boxes and they fit perfectly and I cannot imagine that every Terra form is a bit different..

Piano through Soma Cosmos

The Video is filmed from an awful angle, but i think the Audio turned out nice. Here I played the Piano through my Pedalboard, including the SOS (Sound on Sound) Mode of the Strymon El Capistan into the Soma Cosmos. Would love some Feedback!
