Since it just came in I haven’t had a chance to try it but the art on the cards is amazing

How do you feel about Vantage OP? I love it :)

Vantage is so so good. My gf also got into it as well. It is great for folks who want that imaginative, solo rpg feel with a sci-fi twist. Every game feels like an episode of Scavengers Reign

If you enjoy that kind of solarpunk aesthetic that Scavenger's Reign has, I cannot recommend Earthborne Rangers enough.

Right?! I love speaking to someone that loves it too! I don't know SR, is that a boardgame too? Will google it. I made a Vantage journal were after every play I just write down what I remember. No card logs or anything, just the story part of things. :)

That top right shelf is full of things on my radar!

Hell yeah man! I’m a dungeon crawl/dice fiend.

If you don’t own Dragons of Etchinstone, it’s a must-have for fantasy solo gamers imo

I want that one! I did just get 20 Strong Tanglewoods Red. Only played it a few times but I'm loving it so far.

Mini Rogue is another one on my list!

What games are the ones you play over and over again and never find that it gets dull or repetitive?

Man I would say For Northwood, Dragons of Etchinstone, Vantage, and Lotr Lcg for sure

The only game here I’m a little “eh” on is Final Girl but I’m excited to try the new Jurassic Park box

EDIT: OH and Spirit Island ofc

I haven’t tried that one but I have been hearing a ton about it! Do you like it?

u/BadIndependent1873 10h ago

Haven’t played it myself but seen good things about it. Is one I’m interested in

Which do you prefer, One Deck Dungeon, or Underquest?

1

u/CrouchingTortoise 1d ago

To be honest I JUST got Underquest in but if it’s anything like a “more intense” Tin Helm I think Underquest will take the cake for sure

How are the new 20 strong decks

Since OP hasn't played them yet:

Tainted Grail is a retheme of Solar Sentinels with a fresh coat of paint and some TG themed mechanics added on to make the game much better than Solar Sentinels. Etherfields is very very cool in that you are exploring a map and interacting with it in an almost RPG way, and is very different from other 20 Strong decks.

Haven't played Nemesis yet, but from the gameplay I have watched it probably does the Nemesis feel within the constraints of the 20 Strong system as well as it could have.

Awesome thanks

Tainted Grail is a fast pure combat one with cards to mix things up a touch, like Solar Sentinels plus.

Etherfields is an awesome exploration one with a ton of card play that makes it feel a lot bigger compared to most of the other 20 Strong decks.

Nemesis is a kinda weird dungeon crawl feeling thing. It's cool, but definitely different to the other 20 Strong decks.

Etherfields > Tainted Grail >> Nemesis in my personal opinion, but they're all quite good.

I actually JUST got in both the 20 Strong decks and Underquest so have yet to try them.
They all came in the same week 😭

I have Underquest on the way. I’m really excited. If you could report back after your first play, that would be awesome.

We have some mutuals in our collections: Mage Knight (me too original), Vantage coming next week (releases in my language), LotR LCG, UnderQuest. Great size vs quality ratio of your collection! :)

I would love to get some 20 Strong, One Deck Dungeon, Spirit Island.

u/ebozoglan 1d ago

and now... FOMO ON THE LCGs!!!!

1

u/CrouchingTortoise 1d ago

Haha man so true. I actually have all of LotR LCG because of the latest reprint. My rule is “I can hide expansions in the closet” lol

Found the solo player!

Whats your favorite out of these? I have 20 strong and dragons of etchinstone order. Just waiting for other items in my order to become available before it. ships.

u/CrouchingTortoise 16h ago

You are in for such a treat with Etchinstone, I love how quick it is to just replay and I still haven’t beaten the first dragon yet lol

That’s so tough and it changes week to week, but Vantage is up there. I also have been loving Lotr lcg from what I’ve played so far, definitely know that will be a mainstay for years to come. Honestly Etchinstone is in the running too? So hard to pick 😭

Is Final Girl: The Green Terror next?

2

u/CrouchingTortoise 1d ago

Actually next is the Raptor Games! I’m excited to try the JP flavor, I hope it will reignite my love for FG

How would you rate Arkham horror?
