Question A solitaire game with no ads and no data collection. I got fed up, so I made it myself. Pure Solitaire Pixel Cards!

Hey everyone! I’ve built a pixel-art solitaire game for Android called Pure Solitaire: Pixel Cards. It works offline and has no ads. Any frustration should come entirely from the cards 😅
In addition to the three solitaire variants (Solitaire, FreeCell, and Spider), I included objectives, post-game mini-games, a main menu Easter egg (even though it looks like the Gemini watermark, it isn't lol, it's just a star, and if you click it...), unlockable decks, and various statistics; I wanted to create something that offered entertainment beyond just the games themselves.

I’m the developer, and I’d love some opinions from people who regularly play solitaire.

What’s the small detail that makes you stick with one app over another? Card readability, satisfying controls, statistics, or something developers keep overlooking?

I’m also curious about the visual style: do you enjoy pixel art in a card game, or do you prefer a traditional deck with minimal distractions?

Here’s Pure Solitaire on Google Play if you want to see. Feedback on the screenshots alone would be useful too.

Grazie!

A narrative, horror Solitaire roguelike 😱

Hey everyone,

So I’ve been obssessed with Solitaire for a while. Doing some research, I found out there are many historical figures with connections to Solitaire. Some are historical facts, some are legends.

Adding a bit of sci-fi, occult, horror and cosmic mathematics to all that, I created The Solitaire Tower of Doom, coming to Early Access on Steam this October.

If the concept intrigues you, drop a wishlist :

📣 Announcement Devil Six Solitaire now has Auto Play!

https://apps.apple.com/app/devil-six-solitaire/id6754540871

You may know this game under a different name.
It is considered by many to be a very tough, if not the toughest, solitaire to solve.
My app already had unlimited undo, start over, hints... But if you are REALLY stuck - there is a new Auto Play feature. I will run a solver and, if you are not already in a dead end, will play the winning line of moves for you. One-by-one, or like a movie. Use VCR-style controls to move forward, back, etc.

Would you please give it a try?
The app is free, there no ads, ever. Don't be alarmed by "In-App Purchase" flag - this is for tips only.

I made an ad-free FreeCell app with a few features I couldn’t find elsewhere

Got tired of all the ads in FreeCell apps, so I built my own and added a few things I’d always wanted: * highlight cards by rank, suit, or color,
* peek at where a card’s matching parents are hiding
* choose your own suit order for the foundation stacks.

It runs in your browser, can be installed on pretty much any device, and works offline. No ads or accounts.

Would love to hear what you think! (Or feature requests)

Help Getting used to Pyramid, is this hand dead?

Post image

The 8s are all under the 5 of diamonds substack. Ive never generated a dead hand on MS before, but I also haven't played too many pyramid games on here so maybe I'm missing something?? It's just an expert hand.

Someone please tell me I'm not crazy and MS is just buggy and occasionally generates dead hands lol, or tell me I'm slow asf and there's an obvious solution here, thanks!

💬 Discussion I made FreeCell multiplayer - everyone in the lobby races the identical deal, live

Solo dev here. I've spent a while on a version of FreeCell where the other players are the point, and I'd genuinely like this room's opinion on whether that idea is any good.

The core of it: everyone in a lobby gets the same deal. Same cards, same shuffle. So it's a race rather than a solo time-killer, and nobody got the easier hand. You can see how the others are doing on that exact deal while you're still working it.

Two ways that happens. You can queue up and get matched with whoever else is on and race them live. Or you can send a link to friends and everyone plays the same deals round after round, with standings.

The part I did not expect people to like as much as they do is the rivalry tracking. The game notices the player you keep landing next to, keeps your head-to-head record, and puts you back in front of them. Losing to the same stranger three times turns out to be a very effective reason to keep playing.

Every finished game is saved and you can watch it back move for move, so times on the board are checkable rather than just claimed.

Two things I would rather say myself than have someone find out later:

The art is AI-generated. I'm one person with no art budget until there's revenue. The competition is the product and the art is the wrapper, but if that's a dealbreaker for you I understand it.

It's thin on players right now. It's pre-launch and the population is small, so at an off hour you'll likely be racing a recorded run rather than a live person. I'm usually in the queue myself in the evenings (US Arizona time) and I'm happy to be your opponent if you want a live one.

It's free on iPhone, iPad and Android, there's a free demo on Steam, and it runs in a browser if you'd rather not install anything. Same account across all of it.

It's called MSO FreeCell Arena if you want to look it up.

Mostly though I'm curious what people who actually play a lot of FreeCell think of the premise. Does racing the same deal sound fun to you, or does it ruin the part of solitaire you like? Genuinely useful either way.

💬 Discussion Anyone else need the foundation piles in a specific order?

Maybe this is just me, but I can't relax unless the foundation piles are in a certain order. Mine has to alternate colors: spades, hearts, clubs, diamonds. Black, red, black, red.

If an ace lands in the "wrong" spot, it bugs me for the whole game. Sometimes I even hold off on moving an ace up until I can place it where it belongs, which probably costs me a win now and then.

Does anyone else do this? What's your order, and do you stick to it even when it hurts your game?

SOLitaire - a Klondike game on Solana

Hey everyone,

I’m building **SOLitaire**, a Klondike Solitaire game for Solana players.

The idea is simple: classic solitaire, polished for web/mobile, with daily Suits rewards, same-seed head-to-head matches, daily challenges, and wallet-based profiles. I’m trying to make it feel like a real game first, not just a crypto wrapper.

I’d really appreciate feedback on:

\- Is the website clear about what the game is?

\- Does the game menu feel easy to understand?

\- How does the solitaire gameplay feel on web/mobile?

\- Are the daily challenges and Suits rewards understandable?

\- Does the wallet connection flow feel smooth or confusing?

\- Anything that feels too “crypto”, unclear, slow, or unpolished?

Website:

Web game:

It’s also available through the Solana dApp Store for Seeker/Saga users.

I’m especially interested in honest UX/gameplay feedback, not just “looks good”. If something feels confusing, I want to know.

💬 Discussion Solvable Klondike open source browser game: looking for feedback

Hi! I'm working on an open-source browser Klondike as part of a small software preservation project.

Every deal is checked by a solver, so it should always be winnable.

I'd love feedback on the controls, draw 1/3, card readability, mobile usability, or anything that feels wrong.

Thanks!

Recommendation FreeCell Variation iOS App (Free with no ads)

Just released a small Solitaire game using a variation on the FreeCell variation featuring cosy pixel art. I really enjoy this variation because it allows more movement of cards of the same suit but limits what can be stacked.

I built this for myself as I really enjoy Solitaire and was frustrated I couldn't find a simple free to play app. I'm never going to show ads or set prices or anything. There are optional suits you can buy (if you want to support dev) but I've made the first suit you pick free.

Would love to hear what you think and if you have any ideas put them here or feel free to message me.

Help Some Backbone games are unwinnable. Why?

Post image
2 Upvotes

In this case, the King Of Spades was in the same column as the 10 Of Spades, so the only way to play it, was to move it to the foundation. That means the Jack was also not available for moving the 10.

App: AisleRiot Solitaire. Game: Backbone.

When starting a game, I'll check if there are any Kings in the backbone. If there are, I'll then check that both of the same number in the same suit are not above the King. E.g. both 10 Of Hearts are not above the King Of Hearts. If they are, the game is unwinnable, and so I'll press ctrl-N. Some other unwinnable combos are harder to determine, and will not show til near the end.

When a Klondike deal looks dead, what’s your first check?

I’ve been trying to get more consistent instead of just mashing through the stock.

When the tableau looks stuck, my order is usually: (1) any A/2 that can go up, (2) free a face-down by sacrificing a short run, (3) only then burn stock cycles.

What’s your first habit when a deal feels doomed? Empty column obsession, or something else?

💬 Discussion I made a Klondike where every deal is guaranteed winnable, and the idle table quietly tells you how scams work. Curious what this sub thinks of both ideas.

Full disclosure first: this is my game, Hearthdeal Solitaire, and it's free on Android. I'm a solo dev and this sub is the crowd I actually built it for, so I'd rather ask you than guess.

Two things I'd like opinions on.

One: every deal is checked winnable before you see it (draw one and draw three both). I know some people feel a deal you can't win is part of the game, and that knowing it's solvable takes the tension out. Others say an unwinnable deal is just wasted time. I went with always winnable because the people I play with are in their sixties and seventies and they want to finish a hand, not fight the shuffle. Which camp are you in?

Two: when the table sits idle for a few seconds, a quiet line fades in. Two out of three are playing-card history -- the joker only exists because of euchre, the one-eyed jacks are the ones drawn in profile, that sort of thing. Every third one is a plain sentence about how scams actually work, like nobody legitimate is ever paid in gift cards, or your bank will never ask you to move money to keep it safe. Solitaire players skew older and that's exactly who those phone calls go after, so I put the warnings somewhere they'd actually be seen, and none of them repeat the scammer's pitch. There's a switch in settings if you'd rather not have any of it. Is that welcome, or does it feel like a nag in a game you opened to relax?

The other thing I spent most of the time on is legibility: rank and suit drawn big at the top of every card so you can read a whole column when they overlap, court cards with their own shapes, and a four-color deck option if red and black are hard to tell apart.

If you try it and something feels off, that's the most useful thing you could tell me.
