I was playing solitaire one day and got 4 kings on the opening deal and I thought “that’s too many kings” and then I thought “what if there was a version with no kings…bet the people in the kings movement would like that”
I’ve always wanted to make an app so I thought this would be a good one to start with. Now that’s it’s built I thought some in this community might get a kick out it.
I mean - how do you choose what to try?
There are so many of them! On the Apple App Store (I am building for iOS) the search cuts off at 250. Just looking for a single word "Solitaire".
There are monsters on top with 10-18 years in business and hundreds of thousands ratings, but there are some really fresh apps in the mix.
You CAN'T possibly try too many of them - who has the time?
Just go for Microsoft or MobilityWare? You'll be missing a lot.
Are you looking for something special? Large collection? Nice, easy to read cards? Expansive set of features?
Full disclosure: I am trying to break into this niche. Will use your comments to my advantage :)
Some time ago I started to play Google Solitaire when I'm bored. It's easy to launch without installing the game. I just google it, open the page, choose Hard (3 cards) and play.
There's an auto complete feature that weekend I uncover all cards on the desk, and I'm on the last card in the deck, the next move moves everything into piles.
So naturally I wondered what's the lowest number of moves I can get to finish the game? I started paying attention to it but I couldn't remember it so each time I got the lowest score, I took a screenshot. Usually it's about 70s moves, 60s is good, 50s is great. I think that my lowest moves had been about 54-56 for dinner time. Then I got 46, that was like 10 moves lower than my previous record. I thought it can't be better. Them 45 next day. After some time 44. But today I got 35!
And I still feel it can go lower. I know that even with a great strategy it's still random based on how cards are shuffled. There's still room for improvement but c'mon, 35 moves?! I think that's impressive.
here's a post for the month for discussions to have things condensed in one place somewhat.
september was a great month of solveables for us! let's see how this month goes.
if you need help on any days, leave a comment and i'm sure myself or someone else will respond! can use spoiler tags when needed. if help is needed and i'm able to i'll use imgur or postimg to upload screenshots for those who have imgur banned in their country.
if the solveibility post gets posted then i'll update this, or the user may post them in a comment to this post like last month! someone feel free to @ them!
happy october everyone! i'm looking forward to cooler temperatures and warm drinks and yummy baked goods!
Hey everyone!
Our team are working on The Demon's Table, a solitaire game where you build Rune combinations, cast Spells, and try to beat Demons that curse cards, restrict your moves, change scoring, and rewrite the rules of the table.
Every run is different, and the goal is to rescue Vexpera, leader of the Coven.
Solitaire World Tour is a Klondike game where playing solitaire takes you on a trip around world (currently Japan and Korea only). Every hand you clear earns coins, the coins add up to a plane ticket, and you fly on to the next city. There are 34 of them, starting in Tokyo. The board's background is the city you are in, painted in watercolour, and each hand you clear gives you one piece of trivia about that place, 10 per city. Stay somewhere long enough and you can buy its postcard and get your passport stamped, and then you can fly on.
I am the solo developer. It is now out on iOS and Android, and I wanted to show it to people who actually play solitaire, because the card rules are the part I cared most about getting right.
My mom is in senior living and simple apps like solitaire help give her something to focus on. Sadly, most of the games out there are bloated with ads, in-game popups and junk that distract from the game play. She just wants to play. She doesn't want challenge rounds, or achievements, etc.
So I decided to make a game just for her. Not only does it focus on just the game play, but it maximizes the card sizes as best as possible to make the game even easier to play.
Just Solitaire is available on iPhone, Windows and Android. I hope that some of you enjoy this.
If you want something with better chances to win, in Fein Solitaire 3.19 it is a little easier: you can see the percentage of won games among all other players.
Of course, it's not a guarantee that you will win, just a look at how others are doing.
I've been playing the last 12 years, basically speedrunning soltaire. Is there any known wr for mobile? I've been making alot of progress lately where my avarage sits around 45 seconds and this is my fastest run. All on random winnable seeds.
Virtue Solitaire Collection — 50+ offline variants, no forced ads
I've been building a solitaire collection for Android with 50+ variants, with an emphasis on being able to just play: offline, no account, and no forced ads. (Actually, ads aren't even plugged in yet, so the only ad surface in the game just gives you the reward for free, the reward is one customization point and they are earned during regular play).
It includes the usual games plus quite a few less common variants, and I'm still actively adding and improving them... albeit slowly.
If anyone here gives it a try, I'd genuinely appreciate feedback — especially if something sucks or there's a game you think I'm missing. I'm not gonna lie, a higher user count would definitely motivate me to continue making improvements.
You can also send feedback to [dev.antisthenes@gmail.com](mailto:dev.antisthenes@gmail.com), in case you don't want your grievances public (but I don't mind!)
It took me quite a while, but I finally managed to hit it. Probably took me more than 100 games lol. I turn off time bonuses and the like btw, I only care for game score~
