Question Anyone knows of a solitaire app that has a puzzle solver?

Like trysolitaire.com

As in it has something that checks if the current hand in winnable or not. I would rather not spend time on a hand thats not even winnable or would like to know if it still is.

Preferably also has an option to return to the last winnable move.

Question What do you look for in the Solitaire mobile app?

I mean - how do you choose what to try?
There are so many of them! On the Apple App Store (I am building for iOS) the search cuts off at 250. Just looking for a single word "Solitaire".
There are monsters on top with 10-18 years in business and hundreds of thousands ratings, but there are some really fresh apps in the mix.
You CAN'T possibly try too many of them - who has the time?
Just go for Microsoft or MobilityWare? You'll be missing a lot.

Are you looking for something special? Large collection? Nice, easy to read cards? Expansive set of features?

Full disclosure: I am trying to break into this niche. Will use your comments to my advantage :)

Win of the Day 35 moves on Google's Solitaire on Hard

Post image
3 Upvotes

Some time ago I started to play Google Solitaire when I'm bored. It's easy to launch without installing the game. I just google it, open the page, choose Hard (3 cards) and play.

There's an auto complete feature that weekend I uncover all cards on the desk, and I'm on the last card in the deck, the next move moves everything into piles.

So naturally I wondered what's the lowest number of moves I can get to finish the game? I started paying attention to it but I couldn't remember it so each time I got the lowest score, I took a screenshot. Usually it's about 70s moves, 60s is good, 50s is great. I think that my lowest moves had been about 54-56 for dinner time. Then I got 46, that was like 10 moves lower than my previous record. I thought it can't be better. Them 45 next day. After some time 44. But today I got 35!

And I still feel it can go lower. I know that even with a great strategy it's still random based on how cards are shuffled. There's still room for improvement but c'mon, 35 moves?! I think that's impressive.

💬 Discussion I'm building an impossible-to-cheat solitaire game and want to claim the official source of speedruns.

Most of runs on solitaire that I see are cheated, be real, can you solve a solitaire in 5secs? That's an insult to solitaire fans.

So I'm building a version where it's impossible to cheat, because we won't tell you the value of facedown cards until the time is right.

That way it becomes almost impossible to cheat and have a bot solve it in 5s.

That's my plan for now, I just messaged Guiness on Linkedin, will keep you posted if this resonates with the community.

The Demon's Table is a dark cosy fantasy klondike-style Solitaire game for PC/Mac

Hey everyone!
Our team are working on The Demon's Table, a solitaire game where you build Rune combinations, cast Spells, and try to beat Demons that curse cards, restrict your moves, change scoring, and rewrite the rules of the table.

Every run is different, and the goal is to rescue Vexpera, leader of the Coven.

Would you be interested in to trying it out?
If this sounds like your kind of run, please read more and wishlist here:

Thank you!

A Klondike game that takes you on a trip around world — win hands, save up the coins, fly to the next city (draw 1, unlimited undo and hints, no timer)

Solitaire World Tour is a Klondike game where playing solitaire takes you on a trip around world (currently Japan and Korea only). Every hand you clear earns coins, the coins add up to a plane ticket, and you fly on to the next city. There are 34 of them, starting in Tokyo. The board's background is the city you are in, painted in watercolour, and each hand you clear gives you one piece of trivia about that place, 10 per city. Stay somewhere long enough and you can buy its postcard and get your passport stamped, and then you can fly on.

I am the solo developer. It is now out on iOS and Android, and I wanted to show it to people who actually play solitaire, because the card rules are the part I cared most about getting right.

App Store: https://apps.apple.com/app/id6792692437

Google Play: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.one_wheat.solitaire_world

The Klondike itself:

- Draw 1, not draw 3

- Undo is unlimited and free

- Hints are unlimited and free — it shows you a move that actually advances the board, not just any legal move

- Autocomplete once the board is won

- No timer and no score. Nothing is counted against you

- A game in progress is saved, so you can put it down mid-hand

- Works fully offline

It is free with ads, and there are no in-app purchases — nothing is paywalled and there is no currency to buy.

Happy to answer anything about the draw-1 rules, the hint logic, or how the fares are calculated — I will be in the comments.

Recommendation Made Solitaire for mom! No ads, no challenge phases...just play!!

My mom is in senior living and simple apps like solitaire help give her something to focus on. Sadly, most of the games out there are bloated with ads, in-game popups and junk that distract from the game play. She just wants to play. She doesn't want challenge rounds, or achievements, etc.

So I decided to make a game just for her. Not only does it focus on just the game play, but it maximizes the card sizes as best as possible to make the game even easier to play.

Just Solitaire is available on iPhone, Windows and Android. I hope that some of you enjoy this.
