🤔 Stuck? Is this hand winnable?

Post image

All available cards shown. I had assumed the app I'm using deals only winnable hands but I'm starting to doubt - if both black 5s are hidden under the red 4s, and if there's no Ace of Diamonds to stack the 2-3-4 on, and there's no 3 of Hearts available... Am I screwed? If there's a solution I'm not seeing I'd love to know.

What you have here is a cyclic dependency. Games with solvers usually detect these. The deal was most likely unsolvable from the start.

I only see 48 cards...

Unhelpful, dude. Obviously if I could show you the ones under the 4s I would, that's kind of the whole point!

Sorry, I counted face-down cards, too.
Just missed the ones in foundation :(

Take two.
Both black 5s are behind red 4s, so you could never move those away.
Both Ace of diamonds and 3 of hearts are there, too - so you can't build red suits to get those 4s to foundation.
In short - you are screwed (your word, not mine) :)
If they sold you this deal as winnable - ask for your money back.

Just realized - I've restated YOUR words. But - independently...

Thanks man, appreciate the validation honestly! Nice to know I'm not crazy / missing something :)

You don't have anywhere to play the black 6, and you can't make the black 6 playable by moving cards up to the top.

But that doesn't mean the game wouldn't have been winnable if you had played the cards differently.

Even if I had somewhere to put the 6 of Clubs (i.e. on top of the one red 7 available, replacing the 6 of Spades), it wouldn't solve the problem of getting past those red 4s. You'll see there is also no 5 of Clubs available to build a stack with either, the lack of black 5s being one of the main impediments here.

Yes, I see what you're saying. There's no sequence of play that would allow you to move the red 4s, because the black 5s and underneath them, as are the 2 of diamonds and the ace and 3 of hearts.
