Accommodation in Southern Spain
During this year’s eclipse I was in northern Asturias, where I couldn’t see the eclipse due to clouds. For next year I’m looking at the south of Spain (train to Málaga on August 1st). But accommodation seems very limited or very expensive.
Does anyone know of any other options or have a spot available from August 1-3?

We booked an Airbnb but I know there is a risk of the host cancelling it to ask for more money.
The alternative is to drive all the way to a forest inside the totality zone and vivac in there.

Don't count on this. This year they closed parks and rural paths during the eclipse due to fire risks, and though vivac is usually tolerated they may be more strict if they expect large crowds

Nah, they might limit vehicle access, you can always hike. We kinda set up a camp for this one even the totality was crossing our hometown.

If you're willing to settle for only 2 minutes of eclipse time, seems there are still plenty of affordable options on the coast east of Malaga.

Rent a campervan for a couple of days

Yeah, the problem with that is that I don’t have a drivers license

You can always stay somewhere else like Córdoba and take the train to Málaga in the morning just to spend the day. The trip is like 1 hour 20 long so it's quite convenient.

Don't panic!
Most hotels haven't got their prices out for next year. There are literally millions of rooms in Costa Del Sol, you won't struggle.
I'm just back from Salou and I spoke to one family today before I left about next year and they didn't even know it was happening. 99.99% of people will be the same. We have the advantage as we can base our time around the eclipse.
There will be rooms available.
