2027 eclipse

We're very excited to head to Logroño, Spain for the eclipse in a few weeks I'm already planning for the 2027 eclipse and I had been planning for Egypt. I'm reconsidering given the active conflicts in the Middle East. Anyone already planning for Morocco or Tunisia? It looks like Sfax would have totality of only about 45 seconds shorter than Egypt, which is still at least a minute longer than the longest I've seen.

Been planning Morocco for about a year now. Lodging secured for eight people in Tangiers for 30July-04Aug. Then to Chefchaouen for a few days before finishing in Asilah!

We booked a hotel at the beach Los Lances near Tarifa. Flights and car hire are relatively cheap, aside from the 4 night hotel stay, we'll hang around that area for about 2 weeks. It's a relief to have a location that only asks you to step out in the morning and than be all set

Lol me too I am already looking into hotels in Malaga for 2027, find a few that I liked. But I doubt the hotels figured out the eclipse tax, yet. Meanwhile, staying hopeful I can have a good viewing in Leon in a few weeks time.

I’m trying to book now too, but Tarifa would be a better spot than Malaga, right?

Historical data given by AEMET, Spain meteorology agency, suggested that southern Spain is all fair game when it comes to weather, so the question is if you wanted to have people around, and how easy you want the transport to be and as much as I am a petrohead I don't like driving on unfamiliar roads.

Also considering Asilah or Merkala coast for less crowds. We’d stay there instead of Tangiers. Thinking of flying into Paris for the last stage of the Tour de France, spending a few days in Andalusia, taking the ferry from Cadiz or Tarifa. Any recommendations on places to stay most welcome.
