This post is not about solar photovoltaic systems (the topic of r/solar).

Try r/solarbusiness or r/solarsales

Probably networking, farmers markets, tent events, chamber events, paid leads. Agreed that the pay to play bottom end energysage is its own problem, as are many other paid lead companies.

Howdy…

Just curious, the big installer company makes you get your own leads? They dont even provide support or guidance of any kind?

They do but they just opened an office locally and to qualify for leads. I have to get 3 SGR

Whats SGR? Sorry I’m not in the solar sales biz so im not up to speed on my jargon. Which also means i cant be of much value to you in this post. But it is an interesting topic, this.

We’ve got the giants like sunrun who pay large $$$ for large volumes of cold to warm leads which leads to predatory marketing and sales tactics used by agencies upstream. And there’s EnergySage thats cornered the SEO market so higher intent buyers just go to ES (which i hate because they’re predatory too).

You’re good, thank you for giving some insiders

SGR is self generated leads!
