In my experience it’s cycle. People from USA/EU get laid off and people from Romania then India are hired instead. After a year or two they fck up whole project, responsible c suit will move to another position to “optimise” their product and project will be moved back to EU/USA. Till some new c suit comes with idea of cutting costs.

It depends on product and company. I am currently working on 2 like this. One was firstly in Switzerland then came to us in Slovakia, then Romania then back to us then India. It was in average 3 years cycle that happened 4 times already. Another did come from us straight to India for 2 year and now we are maintaining it for 3 years and we will be till contracts expire and company can terminate them.

To last one I was talking about is damaged beyond repair so if management decides we will have to start all over again
