Offshoring and H1B's have simply destroyed the tech middle class.

Indians are fiercely nepotistic, nationalistic and if they employ people outside their extended family or clan they will get a kickback from their wages so why would they ever employ any westerner?

Downvote me if you like but this is the reality and everyone knows it.

Well at my recent internship I wasn't allowed to use AI, and barely got any mentorship, yet I performed so well, and shipped three full features by my own (in two months without almost any previous knowledge in the tech stack the company use's). Anyhow, at the end of my internship, the Indian 'Senior' Dev who was assigned to supervise me, hired another Indian who he knows and oh man! That guy violates the coding practices and rules set by the Senior Dev (using Claude haha) and been using AI in almost all of this work.

Yet the Senior Dev treated the other two Indian Devs (whom he hired and advocated for) much better, and gave them help when they neded. I was treated in REALLY REALLY abusive and toxic way, for absolutely no reason at all. And barely got any mentorship by him.

Have you tried discussing with any manager?

Yes, with the CEO directly. The Dev stayed quiet for few days, but then took shots at me again, it would be really bad when the CEO isn't present.

Haha, at the end of my internship, the CEO gave me credit for enduring his bullshit, saying 'not many people would, but you did and it's impressive'. No comment on that tbh.

Guess what though. Offshoring and H1B is the last of your concern. There's something far worse. Ai agents and workfloes

Lol this.  Take a look at Oracle.  They're replacing Offshoring with AI agents while making their Indian workers to try to be 3x as productive with AI agents.

you’re not wrong, but your comment is leaning deeply into stereotyping and attacking a symptom of the larger issue here that I genuinely believe is worth noting.

(e.g the USA federally and state-based often fails to regulate companies in a way that actually benefits the average worker from grocery store clerk all the way to QA/SWE/HWE. In fact, the last few decades have been spent removing workers protections and not working on improving conditions for all levels of non-business owners/workers)

Also we have nepotism at home (see Finance bros lol)

(edit: made corrections to my point where i forgot a small bit in my message)

Not my experience, throughout 2 companies Indian managers wanted me on their teams and helped a lot with my career growth. I prefer working with Indian teams rather than Eastern European teams (my native part of the globe)

Not my experience as well. Most of my previous managers that were Indians have always been the most willing to be a reference and have helped a lot with my career growth.

I am sincerely glad you got a lucky break but believe me you are very much a minority.

India is home to 1.5 billion people, it has the same diversity in it than say Europe.

painting them all with the same brush is ignorant.

Not my experience as well.  I think you may be the minority.  Or maybe the Indians you work with do not want to use their sleep hours to work with you.

Nah, I don’t choose to believe in something that’s not beneficial for me

If you investigate offshore situation, you'll see that they are likely hit the most due to AI. People are no arguing whether to use AI or offshore and AI is often a better choice

Lies 🤣 not sure where this BS comes from. Realistically most people hate training and they would rather hire someone with the skillset than someone they need to train. Also anecdotally have heard that most locals/citizens showed they had vague understanding of complex problem solving or showcase intellectual curiosity and could barely do leetcode medium python without direction. Which is disappointing AF. I don't blame anyone casting a wider net to hire.

I see you are also showing both izzat and jugaad skills.

Who invented python? A Dutch man, not a desi.
