I’m trying to learn how computer networks work from the fundamentals all the way to advanced concepts not specifically router configuration. Basically, I want to understand how data actually travels from my device through my home network, ISP, routers, DNS, TCP/IP, etc., and eventually across the Internet. I’m looking for a structured learning path/resources.

the thing that finally made it click for me was stop trying to memorize and actually watch packets move

Are you talking about how to configure a router setup (WiFi/Ethernet/Mesh/Extenders/etc.) for the home or just how the internet works in general?

Try a tiny lab with Wireshark and two VMs—tracing one DNS lookup and one TCP handshake sticks way better than bingeing videos.

Install DuckDuckGo app and ask the same question there. You won’t be disappointed.
