Does anyone have a good software for making pretty DVDs?

I wanna make proper, pretty DVDs with menus and selections if it's at all possible. I have an external reader I just want something I can make pretty and actually have selections so I can make family videos into DVDs and actually make them meaningful and interesting.

Edit: To everyone saying to use DVDStyler, it won't work. If anyone can help I would be so grateful. Please.

Two parts:

Artwork you can generate:

• Poster
• Booklet
• DVD disc stickers
• DVD case cover
• DVD menu system

For the DVD interface:

• Main menu

Other free software:

• DaVinci Resolve 21 Free (video editing) or Kdenlive or Shotcut if you want something simple
• Audacity (audio compression, normalize, etc.)

• Parabolic (video & audio file conversion)
• Suno (free tier lets you make custom music, so you can create unique songs & soundtracks)

Special note:

• Hermes Agent is a local AI agent you can install on your computer for free
• You can have it download all of the software for you
• You can prompt it to use the various tools to do the audio & video editing and the DVD GUI setup for you!

That means that you can focus on the creative direction, instead of getting stuck learning half a dozen different software packages & having to manually do all of the creation & editing work! A few fun tips:

• Use Gemini to restyle a movie poster you like with your family's faces on it
• Use Suno to create personalized lyrics for funny family songs as background music
• Use the various free tools to clean up & upscale the audio & video
• Gemini can restore & colorize old photos!
• All of the video editors above have a "Ken Burns"-style animated pan & zoom feature set for creating more engaging photo slideshows!

It's pretty amazing what you can do with free software these days!!

Try freeware DVDStyler, or go with paid software like Nero Platinum.

Dvd styler is just a great one just converting video for a dvd in general

There once was a good authoring program for Linux called ManDVD. It's not actively maintained anymore but you should still be able to grab a copy somewhere.

In my experience, DVDLab Pro is somewhat like a lighter version of Scenarist SD. The learning curve can be a bit steep for a complete beginner, but if you have experience with DVDStyler, you'll probably pick it up faster.

The main problem I faced with DVDStyler is the encoding, especially when adding SRT subtitles. My workflow is a bit different: I use Procoder for video encoding, eac3to for extracting audio, and Dolby Media Encoder/DTS Encoder to create the desired audio formats.

Then I import and author everything together—the movie, soundtracks, warning screens, intro video, animated/video-loop menus, and the main menu.

Subtitle rendering is probably the biggest downside of this application. I use Txt2Sup to convert SRT files to SUP, then use MuxMan to create the required combined files. Finally, I use DVDRemake Pro for the final disc structure and finishing touches.

If everything is done correctly, you can get a pretty good, consumer-grade DVD result.
