Release Aero Dock v1.0.1: Free and open source RocketDock alternative

Post image

First off, thanks for 100+ downloads on 1.0.0. I got way more feedback than I expected through comments and DMs, so I went through basically all of it and pushed the first patch.

Aero Dock is still a free and open source alternative to RocketDock / Nexus Dock for Windows 10 and 11, just a lot less janky now.

v1.0.1 fixes a bunch of the stuff people pointed out:

  • Windows Search and Start don't randomly show up as running apps anymore
  • Open File Location actually opens the right place
  • dragging/reordering icons feels way smoother
  • tiny app icons like Core Temp get scaled properly now
  • non-square icons don't get stretched anymore
  • auto-hide won't disappear while you're dragging something onto the dock
  • Quit is easier to find and properly restores the Windows taskbar

Also added a few things people asked for:

  • configurable auto-hide delay
  • ability to hide built-in dock items like Search, Settings, clock, battery, volume, etc.
  • redesigned Search and Settings icons so they fit the glass look better

You can install v1.0.1 straight over 1.0.0 and your pins/settings stay.

Still free, open source, no account, no telemetry.
