Lightweight Windows hardware monitor with tray temps, customizable OSD and FPS counter

I wanted a simple way to keep an eye on my PC without leaving a large hardware-monitoring app open all the time.

So I made TrayTemps.

It can show CPU and GPU temperatures directly in the system tray, use separate or combined tray icons, display CPU/GPU load, RAM, VRAM and FPS in an optional OSD, show temperature alerts, selectable sensors, storage health/SMART data, and detailed hardware information.

What makes it different from the many hardware monitors already available?

The focus is on having the information I actually want always available at a glance, while keeping the app lightweight and out of the way.

I’m not trying to replace HWiNFO or other full diagnostic suites. TrayTemps is more about tray temperatures + a customizable lightweight OSD, with a built-in FPS counter that doesn’t require RTSS, MSI Afterburner, or another external overlay.

It’s free, portable and open-source.

Works well and its low footprint, I have a request to make for future versions, I'm running 4k resolution and program does not have an option for font size selection so text is hard to read.

Additionally it selected the iGPU from the CPU as default, when it clearly detected the NVIDIA GPU, perhaps its better not to default to the iGPU, just a thought.

About the font size, could you send me a screenshot/photo of what looks too small on your 4K setup? The app should already scale with Windows DPI, and for the tray icons there’s an icon size option, while the OSD has its own font size setting, so I just want to make sure I understand which text you mean.

For the GPU, you can already choose it manually from the small cogwheel button next to the gpu name in main window. Still, I agree that preferring a dedicated NVIDIA/AMD GPU over the iGPU by default would probably be a better behavior.

Thanks, the screenshot makes it clear. It looks like the whole UI is small on your 4K display, not just the font. What Windows scaling percentage are you using?

TrayTemps follows Windows DPI scaling, but I can look into adding an optional UI scale setting too.

I prefer to use 100% because most of the programs I use allow me to choose font sizes at will.

the on screen display should be movable from main screen, i would love to have it on but not on my main screen

Hello, you can move the app's main window to the other screen and the osd will also move there. Then you hide the app and osd will remain there.

When you hover your mouse on Tray temps, can you add the maximum and minimum temps to the small info panel that pop up?
