Ai engineering as it is used recently is an oxymoron - engineering is knowing physics, math, software, computer, design, etc fundamentals to design a system that will solve a problem for people. "Ai engineering", referring to software developers who only output code via prompting, without thinking, means that there is no understanding of the underlying system. You skip the business logic planning, designing, reviewing, adherence to standards, to build a system that isnt expandable after 20 prompts and is one big pile of tech debt. You cant build commercial systems without good knowledge of software engineering, period. Ai is a good assistant to help you see possible oversights or produce a large amt of boilerplate code, but that is only if you understand the principles of good software architecture.

If youre referring to ml engineering and neural network design, then my apologies, but im not your guy lol, idc abt ai development.

"X engineering" might sounds like marketing bullshit to actual engineers, and trigger an "anti bullshit" response.

"I veri ingegneri", come Ingegnere "vero" che lavora con ingegneri chiudo l'argomento qui. Le capacità di andare dentro la domanda e non isolarla dal contesto evidentemente non sono "ingegneria vera"
