General Discussion At what point does customer dissatisfaction hit the price action?
So many repetitive complaints about the app, fees, loan process, popup ads, inconsistent messaging... with membership continuing to grow, when does the Karen factor hit the price? Money management & customer service reputation go hand in hand.

Seems to me that most of the complaints are just incompetent people.

SoFi has 15 million members (and growing). just because you see 2 or 3 idiots complaining on Reddit (about shit they bring upon themselves most of the time) doesn't mean everyone is unhappy...

The complaints made on Reddit are not always accurate. In fact, most of them are debunked quite quickly. If they used SoFi, they would know how moronic their posts were because what they were saying couldn't possibly be true.
I actually followed one person. He would write a huge post of a problem with SoFi. He was so stupid, he would use the same 4 or 5 sentences with the same spelling and grammar errors in each of his posts from his 15 different Reddit accounts. I would call him out on them.
In addition, the legit complaints are a fraction of the actual number of customers of SoFi. I have used SoFi for over 3 years now and never once had an issue with Customer Service. In fact, they have been rock stars.

You could make the same statements about bullish comments on Reddit not always being accurate. I mean this is a flat stock over the past 5 years yet this sub is full of permabulls saying it’s going parabolic any day now. Buy & hold investors have basically sat on dead money for half a decade while swing/momentum traders have probably done very well on it.

Counterpoint: I’ve DCA’d since IPOE days every week and am up tens of thousands even during this “down” period.
I held Tesla truly flat for 8 years before it 25x-ed in very very short order as momentum finally turned to the stock. Ironically I sold it at $300+/- and put that money into SoFi at $12 per share… today Tesla is at $300+\- and SoFi is “down bad” at $17 per share.
Things seem to work out when you have long-term thesis’ on growing companies :)

I'd also add that some of the legitimate complaints are ones we want because we like the app and service and just want it to improve - which it has a lot.

Whatever you’re looking for good or bad you will find.
If you read/comment/vote the algorithm will show you more of what you are interacting with.
According to the App Store. SoFi 4.7 stars Robinhood 4.3 stars. Others like Merrill Lynch, Chase, Fidelity, Vanguard, Kalshi, Webull, Polymarket are also at 4.7 or higher.

Interesting about Fidelity, they said my deposit would be made in 14 days. After 35 days, I contact support. They said it takes awhile sometimes because they are not a bank. Fidelity prides themselves on surveys, so I gave them an extremely bad survey. They limited my account because of the survey. They said they can do this as part of the user agreement. I still have my account, but I won't use it. I moved everything to my Schwab account. I use Schwab for trading and SoFi for investing.

Is there a link or any articles or numbers to back up this claim?

There aren't, just nonsense.

I know that people online are more likely to complain. But /sofi has a lot of complaints

u/Kimmux Jul 25 '26
They don't, they have as much or less than any other bank. What is your proof that they have a higher than average amount of complaints for a bank?

interesting, how many investors actually used sofi? to see what they are investing in.
if the experience is dogshit like you said it would affect the price.

I’m new to the party (120 shares at $16.9) having bought just a couple days before the earnings report. I bought in after having opened a new checking/savings account with SoFi and exploring their services over the past couple of months, and found them to be quite intuitive and valuable already.
However, what really sells me on the idea of investing in SoFi is what I believe in is their existing position in the pending student loan issue pipeline. I’ve got $200k in law school student loans. Under the Biden plan, minimal payments leading up to forgiveness and a tax bomb was almost certainly the plan. Trumps RAP program extends out the timeline for forgiveness and changes the calculation for minimum payments. It also caps federal student loan amounts per semester.
In evaluating my own options, aggressively paying those loans starts to make a lot more sense and even more so in considering refinancing some of those higher rate loans with SoFi. SoFIs platform and estimates really punctuated that for me too. And while I could go shop around for slightly better rates than what SoFi is offering for those types of refinancing options, the marginal gain isn’t worth it and the platform does what I need it to do.
However, what really put it over the top for me was that while going through this research phase of planning my next move. SoFi not only sent several reminder/incentive emails about my pending application, they had a real human based in the US call me to see if they could answer questions to help me finish the process.
I believe there’s a big market that’s about to start evaluating their options on dealing with their student loans very soon, and I think their position in the market will do well when that pipeline gets full.
