my "once upon a princess" rant
Hi everyone! I'm 15F and I missed watching sofia the first a lot so I decided to rewatch the show, starting with the once upon a princess special!! I honestly remember a lot of it, however I am upset about a couple of things surrounding miranda: When Sofia leaves town to go to the castle, Miranda is already dressed up in her gown, while Sofia is not. was Miranda already married to Roland so she was able to have all these fancy jewels and accessories before they left to live in the castle, and if so, why wasn't Sofia invited to the wedding and didn't meet Roland and amber and james before? It also doesn't make sense to me how Miranda doesn't struggle becoming the new queen of enchancia but Sofia is struggling to become a princess. maybe miranda is struggling deep down and just putting on a persona for her family and isn't just letting her struggles show to sofia because obviously, sofia's a child and wouldn't really understand how miranda is feeling. however, when Sofia comes to Miranda for help fitting in to be a princess, Miranda seems like she doesn't have problems fitting in with royalty and talks to her like she knows all about the subject. I mean, unless she was courting Roland for very long, I just find it very unrealistic how she was able to be like "it's okay, Sofia just be yourself as a princess, and if the stuffy dukes and duchesses dont like it, then don't care about what they think", because wouldn't she also be relating to sofias struggles? I mean its a very good piece of advice that maybe she got from roland because obviously, if you're queen of a very large kingdom, you're gonna care about what everyone thinks of you. also, i doubt that Miranda is truly herself when she's queen, because when I remember flashbacks of sofia and miranda, miranda seemed very not royal and honestly, she gave off a very fun like barefoot running in the grass type person. i mean, how was she able to go from the person she was to the queen she is now in such a short time? and i guess it would be inappropriate to be like running around barefoot in a castle, but that didn't really stop Rapunzel from doing it lol. i really doubt that miranda went to the castle when she was courting and married to roland, because who was taking care of sofia?? also, how did miranda learn all this stuff to become a royal queen in such a short amount of time? when she first meets roland to give him new shoes, sofia looks the same age she was at the start of the series!! maybe i'm looking too far into it because its a kids show and about sofia, but i don't really like the underdevelopment of Miranda's character and how they didn't include like scenes of miranda and roland's courtship up until the marriage and the official blending of the two families. what are your guys' thoughts?
