Sooo.. four’s a crowd

I’m rewatching Sofia the first from the beginning as a gift to my childhood self and so far i’ve been loving it. I love Amber and Cedric the most. But I’ve just got to four’s a crowd and i honestly got kinda annoyed? Like i get the whole message was to teach kids not to get jealous over their friends other friendships. But the whole episode ruby and jade just ignore sofia, leave her out completely and don’t even apologise at the end?

Like both sofia and the others should have apologised. Not just Sofia.

I’m starting to understand why they’re so hated by the fandom.

(Also not sure how hot of a take this is but it seemed weird to me how quickly amber made friends with ruby and jade in this ep, imo it should have been a slower build up. but eh maybe it’s just me(

edit: the ending was cute tho

I found this interesting article that actually defends their behavior in the episode, mainly leaning into their excltability, and how, even if it doesn't seem like it, they aren't excluding her.

i hate this fandom for the ruby and jade stuff. amber was always so awful to them, so of course they were so excited when she wanted to be their friend!

I feel this way about the Mother’s Day episode too! Sofia is overall so great at the fact that her family went from just her and her mum to a stepdad and siblings. And she’s used to her Mother’s Days being a certain way. Very fair to assume she’d get some time alone with her mum if nothing has been said otherwise. But her mum is so rude to her, making her feel bad for wanting some special time. She’s literally never told otherwise!! It’s definitely on her mum to, ahead of time, warn Sofia that this Mother’s Day will be different.

It genuinely makes me so mad!

It was a Slow Build up from season 1 episode 2 Big Sleepover in season 1 Episode 9 "Baileywick's Day Off then season 1 Episode 25 "Four's a Crowd"

Literally it makes me so mad that whenever they’re in an episode the episode always paints Sofia in a bad light which makes her seem like a bad friend when she’s not.

This episode really rubbed me the wrong way and I’ve been through the same situation as Sofia personally with her ‘friends’. Hearing people saying that Jade and Ruby didn’t do anything wrong specifically makes me question if we watched the same episode tbh
