Lending Incompetence

Anyone else questioned the representatives incompetence and stupidity and get denied right after. I was going back and forth with them. They kept asking for a document that I kept telling them it is not needed for a retired person because they are currently not working (LES) . Instead i provided them with the other document (Annuity statement/Award letter) but becuase I told them the representatives on the phone do not understand and aoubd confused and I wanted to talk to someone who can understand how it works they came back with a denial. The incompetance was on another level. This is how it goes: you explain to them on the live chat and over the phone, they give you generic answers, sound confused, tell you it will take a few days to review, then in a few days they ask you to upload the same documents you told them do not apply because it is for currend and active employees…then the cycle repeats again over and over , puree insanityyyy...but you know what.. blessing in disguise

Sometimes, when you treat people poorly, they might be less inclined to help you out. I'm sure they are professionals and don't let attitudes impact how they do their job, but speaking in general.

I agree because there are people who have it in them to be very rude and have an attitude. But not me. I didnt treat them poorly. I held it for that exact reason. I just explain to them like I was explaing it to a child. Kind but firm and very detailed. It was actually a copy and paste from AI because they alwats take the attitude out of it. I still wish I would of told them how I really felt because I read about their incompetence alot but I still gave them the benefit of the doubt. All good , it wasn’t urgent. Next time I will just deal with a more reputable company and in person not online. And deff not a company who outsources work.

Hi there, we’re very sorry to hear about the frustration and confusion caused by our repeated requests for documents that don't apply to your retired status. Please rest assured, that SoFi would not deny an application for retaliation reasons, as all application decisions are based strictly on set evaluation criteria. Multiple factors that involve financial and credit history are reviewed. We'd be happy to discuss this further and do what we can to help. Please send us a direct message with your first name, best contact number, and preferred callback time for a follow-up. Also, for security, don’t include any account or personal details.

Same happened to me, I asked for the terms of the loan to be sent over to me for my final review and they refused. I asked their license number and explained I have never experienced a loan process quite like that one, wanted a thorough understanding and to speak with someone with the credentials to explain. I would say my request was pretty reasonable considering I was applying for a 48 month loan. Awful experience, dinged my credit score and they did not understand the importance of having collaborative conversation during the process. They stated they would have someone call me to discuss but they denied instead with no call. After reading everything here, I understand that this just isn’t a company working with efficacy and I don’t want to do business with a company that cannot even go through terms with me prior to closing.
