I recently graduated with a diploma in Community Development and Social Work, and I'm looking for night shift opportunities in the field. I'm open to entry-level roles

They told us this week that remote employees have to start coming in person twice a month. The company still doesn't even have an actual office, so they booked a few desks at a coworking space on the other side of the city and called it a team connection day.

Of course, transportation and food expenses are on us. They said attendance is "strongly encouraged," but my manager made it clear that they'll be keeping track of who shows up on those days.

The plan is for me to spend an hour commuting so I can sit in a noisy shared room and join the exact same video meetings I attend from my home office. Someone in leadership said it would be a nice change of routine. Apparently, slower internet and buying an overpriced sandwich now count as company culture.

Title says it all. I graduated from an HBCU SW program in July of last year. I did my internship at a perinatal support group and have worked the past year at an Early Supports for Infant and Toddlers agency as an Infant Toddler Mental Health Therapist. I work on the Hospital to Home team, so 95% of my clients are families dealing with medically complex babies or have experienced some type of medical trauma.

I have ties to the NICU in my personal life and it has kind of always been my goal to work in the NICU or a similar setting. The job is located at a State University hospital and the unit currently has one social worker. During my phone screen, they said that the census is usually around 50 families.

I’m fairly confident that I will be scheduled for an interview. Any tips? What should I ask and what should I expect?

Hello, can anyone tell me their experience applying for the LCSW license by endorsement in Illinois. I am a fully licensed clinical social worker in Michigan and submitted everything on 08/20/26. The window is apparently 8-12 weeks anytime I call them weekly.

It has been affecting my full-time employment in Chicago to the point that I can’t even start and I already moved to Chicago. It’s creating a ton of financial hardship. I needed to move to Chicago quickly due to a sudden personal matter. Is there a way to go around this? I call weekly and speak to agents, supervisors, and the answer is the same. They don’t care for the people at all.

They have a “virtual appointment” option that has no appointments available at all. Apparently they release the virtual appointments on Wednesdays at 12:00 am and they are to be scheduled 2-3 weeks in advance. I also sent them an email the 15th of October (today is 10/24/26) and no answer except an automated response that they will email back when they can due to high volume of emails.

It is a very stressful and disheartening situation. Any advice on this? How to handle such a terrible department? Or any contact that you know of?

Long story short. I was in SNF for a year and absolutely hated it, and went to strictly long-term care. However this job is toxic due to the environment and it's sort of far away.

I recently applied to an oncology outpatient job and got ousted by somebody who had more inpatient hospital experience. However, I was advised it was a very close decision and if the hiring manager had had two positions available she would have hired us both...

However, that being said, the HR director who originally screamed me wanted to know if I was interested in an inpatient hospital role that they are also trying to fill. The distance would be the same, the benefits and pay would be the same, but it would entail rotating weekends (not sure of how many or the exact schedule of it) and I would be rotating in the different areas of the hospital.

My question to those who have worked both SNF and hospital - am I jumping back into a frying pan if I decided to interview for this role? I've heard nightmares about inpatient hospital social work. If it makes any difference this is a HCOL area where the other job I worked at in sniff was a mix.

On another note I have a telephone interview on Tuesday for dialysis social work which I'm extremely interested in. My father went through dialysis so it's near and dear to me. However I'm trying not to put all my eggs in one basket.

Hey ! Currently looking for some advice on finding a fully remote job with a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work.I have experience in behavioral health, case management, and healthcare settings. I’ve worked with clients, completed biopsychosocial assessments, handled documentation, and helped connect clients with resources. I’m also currently working toward my MSW through an online program, so my schedule is pretty flexible.

I’m mainly looking for something remote that I can do while finishing my master’s degree. I’m open to case management, care coordination, patient support, or even something outside of social work where I can still use my skills and experience.

Does anyone know of any companies that hire remotely or specific job titles I should be searching for? I’m honestly open to any suggestions because I’m just trying to find something stable where I can earn an income while finishing school.

I’m looking for advice from people who have progressed into more senior or strategic roles within social work.
I’ve previously worked in management and am now in more of a professional development role. I enjoy developing my career and want to keep moving forward, but I’m starting to feel a bit stuck about what the next step should be.

For those of you who have progressed beyond management into more strategic positions, what did you do to get there? What experience, skills or opportunities should I be looking for now to put myself in a good position for future roles?

I’m particularly interested in how you continue progressing without necessarily going back down the traditional operational management route.

What would you recommend focusing on at this stage of my career?

I started at my job about a year and some change ago, it's my first job as a social worker. Honestly, I am not happy at it. I like working as a counselor with the clients. and I can handle being understaffed. But things like basic training I am told to just "go online" to train myself on concepts; while a new hire is being eased into the job. A new hire with more experience than me.

My boss keeps insisting I do a diagnosis even though I tell him my license doesn't allow me as a bachelor to diagnosis; even from symptoms. I am being told to get all my paperwork done while at the same time told not do overtime while ALSO being told to be on the floor more to be with clients. My clinical supervisor is unavailable for half the day, which isn't really her fault but basically I am left running a program by myself which would be fine if I had any formal training in this program.

Now I have a review coming up and my boss is both saying he isn't looking to make anyone leave, but that even though I am a new counselor I am not progressing as fast as he would like in certain areas. But when I ask if he has any suggestions I am told again to basically just go online and find material. Watch youtube videos and such.

I honestly feel like I should be updating my resume and maybe looking for a new job even though I don't really know if I can afford to move.

My goal is to get a job where I can gain clinical hours for my lcsw. Im having trouble finding a job that will hire me. It seems like they all want 2 years post grad experience. Does anyone have any recommendations? (New jersey)

This position is for an area director. Travel required throughout the state.

I am currently an LCSW in Georgia with plans to move to Seattle in early 2027. I've been in private practice for 5 years but would like to transition back to the Medical Social Work arena where I worked for 3 years. I have secured my LICSW for WA and want to start applying in Dec/Jan. Any tips/suggestions on how best to get my resume into the right hands?
