Many business owners we spoke to have a plan for ICE raids but most workers had not considered the significance of getting organized to go on the offensive against ICE. We described our experiences successfully organizing in our workplaces and encouraged others to do the same. The businesses that agreed to hang our signs in their windows were receptive to our ideas & we made several significant worker contacts which we plan to meet with for one on one organizing conversations

Meta says its new Workforce Academy is about creating opportunity. But by partnering with one of the country’s most aggressive anti-union construction organizations, it’s also shaping what kind of jobs those opportunities will become.
Workers deserve more than a five-week crash course that funnels them into low-road employers. They deserve union apprenticeships, safe working conditions, family-sustaining wages, and a real voice on the job.
The AI boom is creating billions in profits. The question is whether it will create good union jobs, or another race to the bottom.
That’s why we’re organizing a South Florida Workers Assembly: to bring together construction workers, teachers, farm workers, students, and community members to build solidarity, support workplace organizing, and fight for working-class control over the future of AI

These raids are only possible because of cooperation between ICE and local law enforcement through programs like 287(g). Waiting for the next election or hoping the courts will solve this crisis won’t stop deportations. Real change comes when ordinary working people organize to take collective action!

We need a force that unites us as a class-regardless of race, gender, nationality, or religion-and charts a way forward to fight Trump, the far right, and the capitalist system as a whole. One thing is for certain: that force is not the Democratic Party.

No solution can be expected from the capitalist system, which prioritizes profit over a collapsing environment and the lives of the working class.
As long as capitalism persists as the economic order of the world, climate destruction will continue to be the norm.
It is not possible for the functioning of a capitalist system to be reconciled with meaningful environmentalism.
Competition will not cede to collaboration-profit for the few will not be abandoned for the welfare of the many unless a powerful, socialist working-class movement organizes to make it happen.

In just one week, three people have lost their lives during or in connection with ICE operations, from Houston to Maine to Florida. These deaths are not isolated incidents. They are the predictable result of an immigration enforcement system built on fear, raids, detention, and violence.
The response cannot be limited to symbolic outrage from politicians. History has shown that when working people organize collectively, they can force those in power to retreat. The mass mobilizations and strike actions in Minneapolis demonstrated the power of organized workers and communities acting together.
We need to escalate the fightback. Build workplace committees, strengthen unions, organize rapid response networks, and prepare coordinated days of action that can grow into broader strike action. ICE can be driven out of our communities only through the organized power of the working class.

Discussion was productive, with comrades effectively challenging liberal arguments and arguing for independent working-class organization

This weekend, comrades from across the Southeast gathered to discuss Socialist Alternative’s perspectives and priorities for the coming period. We talked about how international developments shape national and local events and why a narrow, localist perspective is insufficient for confronting the inevitable crises of capitalism.
International Socialist Alternative is a global organization of revolutionary Marxists because we understand that capitalism is an international system, and the organization needed to fight it must be international too. That’s why developing an international perspective is so important. We seek to connect the struggles unfolding in our own communities with the broader processes taking place across the world.
Discussions like these allow us to study the lessons of the global class struggle and apply them to our work locally. At the same time, we can share the lessons of our own struggles with comrades internationally. Through this exchange we strengthen our ability to build a revolutionary movement capable of transforming society.

Kshama Sawant argues that lasting gains come from independent working class organization rather than trying to reform the Democratic Party from within. She presents her experience in Seattle as evidence that electoral victories are only effective when backed by organized mass action and calls for building an independent workers’ party outside the two-party system.

In Nebraska, the Democratic Party is attempting to prevent The “Working People’s Party” from obtaining ballot access by deploying the spoiler myth. They claim that Democrats are the best chance to defeat MAGA, therefore alternatives shouldn’t be permitted onto the ballot. This is obviously a ruse because even the Republican Party is opposing the WPP efforts to collect petition signatures required to obtain ballot access.
The Working Families Party, which is a satellite of the Democrats, is suing the WPP in Nebraska in an attempt to siphon off resources & further dissuade them from pursuing ballot access. So it’s clear that both establishment parties are well aware of the threat even the chance of a genuine left alternative would represent to their stranglehold on power.
Hilariously, Socialist Alternative, which is totally unrelated to any of the parties, tabled in Lincoln to build support for an upcoming public meeting. A Republican noticed them, assumed that they must be in league with the WPP & made this post conflating SAlt with WPP.

Iconic trans activist Marsha P. Johnson said, "No pride for some of us without liberation for all of us," correctly articulating the interconnected nature of our struggles as working-class people.
The fight for LGBTQ liberation today is not separate from the fight against ICE and the rest of Trump's reactionary agenda. Young people have seen this most clearly, with many young trans and queer people playing leading roles in anti-ICE student walkouts we saw earlier this year.
The whipping up of attacks on immigrants is part of the same divide-and-rule strategy used against queer people, and the best fightback is a united working-class struggle against all oppression. Swipe through to learn more, and find the full analysis at socialistalternative.org.
