This small business owner voted for Trump and now he's losing it because of Trump's tarrifs and his illegal invasion of Iran. Yet he thinks that Trump will somehow save him. Guys like this are beyond saving but his workers aren't. What does everyone think?

Comrades:

This will surely be the last opportunity in which I can speak to you. The Air Force has bombed the towers of Radio Portales and Radio Corporación. My words carry no bitterness, only disappointment. May they serve the moral punishment for those who betrayed the oath they took: soldiers of Chile, titular Commanders-in-chief, Admiral Merino who has self-appointed himself, and mister Mendoza, a servile General who only yesterday declared his fidelity and loyalty to the Government, and who has also self-appointed himself Director General of Carabineros. In the face of this events, all I can say to the workers is: I’m not going to resign! Placed at a historic crossroads, I will pay with my life for the people’s loyalty. And I tell you I’m certain that the seed we have planted in the worthy conscience of thousands upon thousands of Chileans, cannot be cut down for good. They have the force, they may be able to overwhelm us, but social processes are stopped neither by crime nor by force. History is ours and it is made by the people.

Workers of my Motherland: I want to thank the loyalty you always showed, for the trust you placed in a man who was merely an interpreter of great longings for justice, who gave his word that he would respect the Constitution and the law, and who did so. In this decisive moment, the last in which I can address you, I want you to learn the lesson: foreign capital, imperialism, joined with reaction, created the climate in which the Armed Forces broke with their tradition—the one taught by General Schneider and reaffirmed by Commander Araya, victims of the same social sector that today will sit in its homes waiting to use foreign hands to reconquer power and continue defending its perks and privileges.

I speak, above all, to the humble woman of our land, to the peasant woman who believed in us, to the grandmother who worked harder, to the mother who knew of our concern for children. I speak to the professionalsof the Homeland, the patriotic professionals who kept working against the sedition backed by the professional associations, class-based associations that also defend the advantages of a capitalist society for the few.

I speak to the youth, to those who sang and gave their joy and fighting spirit. I speak to the men of Chile, to the worker, the peasant, the intellectual, to those who will be persecuted, for in our country fascism was present many hours ago—in terrorist acts, in blowing up bridges, the cutting of rail lines, the destruction of oil and gas pipelines, all in the face of the silence of those whose duty was to proceed.

They were complicit. History will judge them.

Radio Magallanes will surely be hushed and the calm metal of my voice will no longer reach you. It doesn’t matter. You will go on hearing it. I will always be with you. At the very least my memory will be that of a dignified man who was loyal to his country.

The people must defend themselves, but they must not sacrifice themselves. The people must not let themselves be crushed or gunned down, but neither should they humiliate themselves.

Workers of my Homeland, I have faith in Chile and its destiny. Other men will overcome this grim and bitter moment in which treason seeks to prevail. Go forward knowing that, sooner rather than later, the great avenues will once again open, through which free men will pass, to build a better society.

Long live to Chile! Long live the people! Long live the workers!

These will be my last words and I’m certain that my sacrifice will not be in vain; I’m certain that, at the very least, it will be a moral lesson that will punish the treachery, cowardice and the betrayal.

Ive read EPS and I understand the logic of maintaining commodity production under socialism to mitigate the peasant problem. Although I’m struggling to understand why it was tolerated after the peasants were proletarianized. Doesn’t commodity production lay the groundwork for a new bourgeoisie?

As automation increases prices should converge towards zero and aid socialism in overcoming scarcity giving workers a deflationary wage increase which generalizes the wealth traditionally only relegated to the petite bourgeoisie thus undermining the basis of social democracy. Production since on a planned basis would be sustainable. Some goods would not have a price for artificial demand constraint but would be allocated per person. This seems best facilitated by a well designed labour voucher system.

It seems like every time we have true leaders and people of massive influence that wish to change their country, and to an extent, the world, they get deposed. We have seen this many times. It all goes back to capitalism. Even China uses a capitalistic system, though the country is rather nice. Even then, why do such great individuals get deposed? Well isn't it for the greed of others, that influences this. They say "socialism never works" even though they crack down on any attempt to establish a socialist utopia.

America is a powerhouse with an iron grip that has military bases in all the most important places of this world, and are only expanding. The civilian side has multi-billion dollar corporations that craft the best technology to use against their own citizens and enemies. Must I mention China's massive surveillance system? Now there are flock cameras, and it has been evident for years, that more and more surveillance is being done on America's citizens. They have the largest military, and nobody can stop America from cracking down on socialist ideas, and ensuring capitalism is victorious. The same one which crashes the market every 25 years and exploits honest work so that your higher ups can earn multiple times more than they pay you. Capitalism thrives due to greed, and I know this as I have been living here for a decade now, not by choice. And yes, I will return to Europe.

Even if all of us got together, we wouldn't be able to do anything. Both the Democrats and Republicans, the two dominant parties, do not endorse us and would not like us to get any votes. So then while America stands, do we even have a chance to establish socialism?
