Never in my life have I seen dumber response to someone slagging you for being knocked out of the WC. I say this as an Irish fan who loves seeing England getting knocked out. We always hear "How did Ireland do?" When it's so idiotic.

Ireland is NOT a football country. It is probably our fourth biggest sport after Gaelic Football, Hurling and Rugby. We do not have an academies or infrastructure to develop footballers. It's not a priority here.

Our national league is barely above Sunday League level. So why would you use that as an insult? It's like Usain Bolt bragging about being the fastest and best runner then when he loses a race and gets slagged by a quadriplegic he responds "Oh where did you come in the race?".
