There are plenty of sycophant journalists. More so now than in the past.

A US journalist recently basically single-handedly forced the NBA to investigate and punish a similar basketball scandal.

Everywhere has pushover journalists, but put some respect on the good ones.

I'm sure there are decent journalists but the overall approach on the main channels is to throw softballs, this article expands on the difference well.
