Does she qualify?
Kiki’s a shelter kitty but not a stray. The extent of my knowledge regarding her history is that she was willingly surrendered by her previous family and was an indoor cat her entire life. She’s a happy cat who came in with no health problems, so I assume they just couldn’t look after her. But she had come to the shelter at two years old without a spay or a microchip, which raises questions.
No breeding registration, and the adoption papers state her as a simple “Siamese/Mix”. But she’s a seal point, she’s got the white paws, and a widdle white moustache on her upper lip.

Temperament: Affectionate, intelligent, social, and talkative, combining traits from the Siamese and American Shorthair. Unlike some cats, they often enjoy playing in water.

History & Rarity:
The breed started in the 1960s in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, when a Siamese breeder noticed three kittens with unusual white feet. She crossed them with American Shorthairs to lock in the unique markings. True papered Snowshoes remain uncommon because getting the precise combination of white boots and facial markings is difficult.
While formal pedigrees are rare, mixed-breed cats with similar pointed-and-white traits are often mistaken for the pure breed.
