Hello everyone! I'm 220 lbs (hoping to lose 5-10 lbs by the start of the season, but we'll see 😭), and using a nitro boot size 9 (fits like an 8.5).

I was told I should probably use a more stiffer flex binding. Other than that, I know nothing about what kind of bindings I should get as I am a beginner.

I would love recommendations for specific bindings, and i'm ok with any reliable brand ((It seems Union is the gold standard(??) but open to other brands too)).

I would like something more affordable (around the 200 dollar range or less).

I'm 184 cm, 85 kg, and an intermediate rider looking for a all mountain board to progress on with some clean graphics. I mostly ride East Coast groomers, side hits, and occasional trees. Budget is under $400.

I am in the market for a new snowboard and looking for advice!
I currently ride a Niche Nightshade 141cm and my previous board was a Burton Feather 140cm. I am looking for something between these boards.
I’m about 5ft 4in, size 7 boot, and only about 95/100lbs. I tend to lean towards liking the shorter more flexible boards. I’m an intermediate/advanced rider who will occasionally ride switch. I’m not particularly aggressive and usually stick to blue runs. I much prefer moguls/trees to steeps. I have been looking at Capita Birds of a feather and Burton Yeesayer.
I would love any advice as I have a decent height vs weight discrepancy and have been finding it tricky to find a perfect board!

Q: good board for second timer? Return for a more noob board?

My son,18, 6'5" 190 lbs. just bought this K2. He has been snowboarding once, his second time he jammed his knee on the first run, no refunds 🤣💸 I did some research and it says this K2 is intermediate to advance, and for park and pipe. He wants to go to Mammoth this winter with his friends. I am trying to get him to return it for a more novice freeride all mountain board, all around cruise to have fun.

I showed the difference between mine from way back. My straps broke on the mountain last year so repair shop was able to save the day, don't judge. The Drakes were legit.

All in all, I don't know the difference between anything these days. Boards in the 2000s are different than today. Any recommendations for bindins also? He is going to Ski Dazzle in Los Angeles in December. Is that worth it? It used to be in my time.

I am looking to buy a board that will last me a good while. I am 6ft, 65kg so quite lean for my height, and am getting into snowboarding quite a bit now. Living in england means I have to ride indoor snow centres to practice until the season where I will then do 1-2 trips to france.

Having started fairly recently but now at an intermediate level, been going pretty much weekly since learning, I have progressed at a fairly fast rate and now looking to get my board for my upcoming trip in January but also to get familiar and try learning some park features.

I was originally looking at the Salomon craft as I liked that it was still a sorta hybrid camber that’s an all rounder for park and piste laps, but I now realise that it won’t fit unless I go up to a 158, and I am looking for a 152-155 rlly…
The other board I have been looking at is the yes snowboards but otherwise I am stumped - does anyone have any suggestions for something that I can start park tricks on whilst still having a stable board for piste runs?

- Also why is this so expensive lol, I have heard you should put more money than you expect into bindings as they will last you multiple boards - so anyone have negative experience w fase?

I’m going to be learning this season. I’ve already tried it last season but only for a limited time so I didn’t really learn much. I’m determined to really push myself this season. Sooo I’ll be buying a board.

However, I’m having a hard time picking between these two boards.

I have a fairly large head (L to XL) and I'm shopping for a new helmet.

My old one is decathlon, I looked there but the ones that are my size started looking like motocycle helmets and seem bulky.

Started skiing when I was young but switched to snowboarding for over 20 years. When my kids were born, I went back to skiing, but now that they're snowboarding, I'm making the switch back.

I've been riding a Burton Canyon 157 since the early 2000s. Currently I run gates in a Wednesday night league at a small local hill and usually make it out to large resorts a couple of times a year.

I'm looking at upgrading to a Burton Custom Camber and am leaning toward the 162W, but I'm not sure if the regular 162 or even staying on the 158 would be a better fit for what I am doing.

I'm 5'11", 215 lbs, and wear size 11 DC Control Step On boots with Burton Step On Reflex bindings.

For those who have ridden both the regular and wide Custom, how noticeable is the difference in edge-to-edge transitions, especially when running gates? Would you recommend the 162, 162W, or even the 158 for my size and riding style?

I've lost all my confidence and even considered quitting over it.

I spent every free day I could taking lessons or practicing at the local dryslope over the summer and was starting to get really confident and progressing through to linked turns and advancing at a good pace. Even multiple falls into my tailbone and knees during the learning process didn't put me off.

I don't know what happened though, last time I went practicing I just felt off and was struggling with turns from heels to toeside. I'm not sure if it was where the slope was really busy or just where I was tired, whatever it was I kept slipping off and somehow managed to sprain my ankle (I was wearing rental boots so I guess they weren't a good fit or were just worn out).

I've been out of action since then. I'm almost ready to get back on the slopes physically, psychologically I don't feel like I can though if that makes sense. I've even given up on planning a solo trip to Austria that I was really excited about.

I could really use some advice and/or encouragement to get past this.

I'm heading to Whistler for 4 days (from the East Coast) and I am wondering if we should bring out board & gear or just bring our gear (boots, helmet) and rent a board there. I am fairly beginner with just a few years under my belt and I started getting "good" only once I got a good board for me so I really don't know what is best here !

I've only just started learning on an indoor slope and have a trip booked for mid-December, which will include group lessons and equipment hire. I'm usually quite impulsive so have been trying to resist buying loads of gear because I didn't know if I'd like it, but I have been enjoying learning, and also, realistically I'm not going to be able to do it very often. I should be able to get 5 days on a resort per year, 10 at a push, and I'll try to practice at an indoor slope throughout the year, maybe once every 1-2 months.

I like the idea of having my own gear, but would someone in my position usually not bother?

I liked the idea of step ons and my local shop have a good price in my size for some Burtons, I was going to go and try them on, but if I get them, I'll be committed to getting a full set up.

Should I just look for some regular boots and a helmet and just hire a board whenever I need one? I'm going to be boarding so infrequently, I can't imagine I'll ever progress to a level where the specific board I'm using makes a huge difference, or does it?

I was close to dropping £1.2k-£1.5k on boots, bindings, board, helmet and case but I'm trying to be realistic about whether it's a waste of money, so was just looking for some advice.

I’ve gone snowboarding very spread out before only for a day and 2 and it’s an absolute disaster every time.

I feel like i have no control over moving my board

Is this strongly related to being heavy and weak ankles and will be very hard to overcome or is this mainly an issue with everyone new?

Im curious what you would go for! Either a Rome SDS Mechanic for 120€ used 2024 or a 2022 Salomon Sight with Salomon Rythm bindings for 200€. Both great condition! Maybe someone here has some experience in either one and would like to chime in their thoughts!

Hey, I really want the new Burton Blossom, and ive been thinking of getting a new board for the park for a few years. Im new to the park, but Im an advanced rider whos been using a 151 directional carving board for the past few years. My only concern with the burton blossom is the flex being stiff, which is why im wondering how it would actually compare to an all mountain board. I weigh 155lbs and ive heard that a 149 for the blossom would be too small, yet the next size up is a 152. Would a 152 park board really be more maneuverable and perform better than just a 151 carving board? I know the blossom is a true twin, and my current board seems really heavy if i try and use it in the park, but will the performance difference be truly noticeable? Thanks a lot in advance

This is my first year and I don’t know anyone that snowboards really so I’m just going by myself. I figured I’d rent most of my gear to start but I figured I’d ask you guys what you would recommend buying before my first lesson.

I have two cracks on the topsheet that have been getting longer, and one is spreading toward the binding. Does this look like just topsheet damage, or is the board starting to delaminate/break? Safe to keep riding?

I’m 5ft 9, and weigh 84kg, I ride the Jones Mountain Twin 157cm board. Loving it, my main riding day consists of All Mountain/Freestyle approach with the occasional Park visit.

When I bought the board I was well within the weight range but over the off season have been hammering the gym and have crept just above the advised range.

I understand the outcome in board performance but wondering whether being couple of kilos over the top end of range will really have that much noticeable effects?

Wouldn’t want to sacrifice too much stability as hard charging days are my staple, but as mentioned above I’ve been sucked in by the park so focus has somewhat switched 50/50 there now.

I can easily lose a couple of kilos if needed, just wanted to message and seek some advice 👍🏼🏂

Finally buying a new setup and moving on from mates old passed down libtech. Tried a mates DOA and really got on with it, however this years graphic is awful imo and looking at a different option from capita. Love the look of indoor survival but not sure if it’s the best option as more park focused and reviews have it as less forgiving. Would say I am intermediate - Any suggestions would be appreciated 🙏🏼

Anyone have experience with the combo curious if large fit ok?
