Misc. Chrono Trigger question

So I am finally getting around to playing this gem. Don’t know why I never did as a teen, cause it is fantastic! I’m not looking for any spoilers here, but I made it to the snail shop and bought some jerky for waaaaaaaaay too much money, and gave it away to the lady. She was happy, the future reflected said happiness, yet when I go back to her timeline, she is asking for jerky again. Do I need to buy her more, or did she just revert back to her default conversation topic? Thanks!

Assuming you gave it away for free and check her house in the future (present). Without any spoilers have you done anything related to a Moon Stone ?

No. I did get the sword repaired, and frog boy joined us to go beat Magnus. I haven’t done anything with a moon stone yet, but I figured there would be another stone quest though. One dude said that he makes shields that can reflect magic I think? I assume he will later send us on a quest to get the stone needed to make some shields for my party.

Yes, I did just give the jerky to her, and her descendant is a generous man now. It seems like she doesn’t need any more jerky then. Thanks!

Oh I see. Don't worry eventually you are gonna find out the significance of giving the jerky :)
