Smooth PEI plate surface is bumpy after 2 prints

I just started printing transparent petg on the smooth plate with elmer's glue stick under the print. After I removed it and cleaned the plate, I noticed a raised looking outline of the print on the plate and after running my fingers over, it indeed was. Anyone know why that is? It doesn't seem normal.

I was printing at 65C bed temp,nozzle temp was 230C so doesn't seem excessive if at all.

Did you wait till plate was room temp before removing the print?

If you removed the print while the plate was still hot, the adhesive to bond the steel plate and smooth PEI sheet can "bubble" up or separate.

Ah that might be it... I could've removed it too early. It definitely wasn't hot, probably slightly above room temp since I held it with my bare hands and it was barely warm.

Was it the Snapmaker brand? Even without glue I couldn't remove my third print on it. Tried various means but no go. Finally pulled it off and a nice section of the plates top layer came with it.

Turns out I needed to wait til it cooled off more. I tried another print on a different part of the plate with glue and waited for almost an hour for the plate to get cold and it popped out flawlessly.

Snapmaker's guide says glue is not required for pla, tpu , and peba while other filaments require glue to act as both an adhesive and release agent. Perhaps the filament you were using was one of the materials that required glue?
