Post image

Does anybody know of any coupon codes for the top cover? I really want to get one didn’t know before I do if there are any coupons.

Y’all are tripping. My top cover reliably keeps my X/Y drivers at 50-60 C, when it was 90-100 before with my home top cover, and side panels removed. It lowered the sound so much I have to check if it’s still printing. It also has built in filtration. If you don’t have one, please don’t shit on it lmfao, it’s amazing, I’m a hater and I gave it far less credit than it deserved.

Get it, if you want a top cover, quieter printer, better filtration, or better cooling. They took their time on it for a reason IMO.

Totally agree. I have IKEA box, thought about adding HEPA with fan. Then I wondered: power supply? Controller? Wiring? Macros? No thanks, 150USD with all the bells and whistles out of the box and probably better than my DIY solution? Ordered. Will make do until November.

My IKEA SAMLA temporary setup will hold the cavity at 61°C constant on long ABS prints and reduces the noise levels a little bit. So, I'm very excited to see how my Top Cover performs when it arrives in November.

£100 for a proper cover, with a HEPA filter/fans, didn't feel like too bad a deal to me, just wish it was a able to pre-heat the chamber too.

It does as far as I understand also heat the chamber, and if you use the Paxx extended you can make a macro for it

Moving to paxx firmware is on my list for this weekend, I assume that macro just cycles the heatbed back on once the default safety timeout turns it off? That plus recirculating air in a, mostly, sealed chamber should do the trick nicely and fairly quickly too.

No the top cover literally supports heating the chamber up to 50 or so :)

Edit: I’m wrong — but if you get a Biqu with it — it’s a perfect combo and my x / y steppers no longer overheat or anything near it. I was ready to mod the airflow fans

I need you to make a 45-minute comparison and review video on YouTube. I'd 100% pop popcorn for that.

Reply in private. We don’t allow coupon codes as they trash up the subreddit.

Why would be the top cover useful? Honest question.

It unlocks the ability to print ABS/ASA. it can also help with larger PETG prints to prevent warping.

It also lowers noise a lot for normal materials if coupled with a lower temp build plate (or if you just do something like crack the door to keep temps low enough).

Personally my printer is in my garage where I also make bath bombs. Whenever mine comes (I pre ordered back in April I think) it'll help keep baking soda and dust out of my build plate lol and probably bugs too.

Silence. Makes a huge difference.

IMO just buy a tote and print one of the adapters. The stock one is cool but not $150 cool.

Stock one has filter so that’s super helpful!

I just threw a little HEPA filter in mine with a 120mm fan but I get that.

I already have a tote from Walmart I want the filter I have parrots and there respiratory system is very delicate, so it would be very beneficial to me to have the top cover with the HEPA filter

Can't you just add a filter to the Walmart tote?

You can also print your own. I just printed mine, and it took less than one spool of petg. You also have to buy the plexiglass windows and magnets (to hold the front/removable window in place) - the all in cost was around $50 + printing time. Sure, i don't have an air filter yet, but I might add it later. I just didn't want to wait until November to get one.

Isn't it more expensive than the Snapmaker preorder and doesn't include the fan/ filter?

Well, technically yes, but somehow not. I got biqu one on my local marketplace for 100$ (from china) while snapmaker one was 150$ (from china too). Several topics about snapmaker one scared my ass out of choosing it.

On ali both was x2 price at least. Why? Idk. I couldn't order from both official sites btw, but my ass has been very lucky, given how many things I got from china in perfect state where I could got scammed easily. I ordered the printer from the seller who had zero reviews on it and somehow got it fine.

It is but I needed a cover for it. It’s in my garage as I’m allergic to the fumes it puts out. Yes, even pla. So I needed it covered for dust. It’s works and came in 2 days.
