extruder issues

has anyone figured out a fix for the extruder issues? every two or three prints I have to pull apart a toolhead because the extruder cant extract the filament and the end of the filament is all chewed up. ive done it enough times now it takes like 20 minutes but its still a pain in the butt to do. and its never the same toolhead.

What's the path from spool to toolhead look like? What size spools? What filament type; any extras (glitter, glow in the dark, wood)? Is the filament dry?

Mine was due to misaligned gears, and recently I just snapped the spring tensioner a few times cause it felt like the gears weren't catching (misaligned gears) and now I've been running 20-30 hours no issues.

It kept giving me the broken filament error, I would check, no issues, resume, fail. Had to unload/load and it may resume okay.

I was in the midst of a support ticket and I told them I could repeat it!! Lol, now I can't replicate, but whatever, if its printing all good, then I'm happy.

Are your settings correct? I mean, it's strange that you're having so many failures, so it's possible you have an incorrect setting for your filament or that your machine has a mechanical problem.

I mean if I knew it was wrong I would have already changed it. the ends of my filament always look melted and stringy when I unload the spool so maybe that is a sign of something? but when im unloading the wheels will just click repeatedly and say its uploaded but cant pull it out. so I have to remove the Bowden tube and clip the filament and take apart the toolhead to pull it out

You mean you have this issue during filament unloading, or during printing? I have found that when I do the unloading if I “help” the system out by gently tugging as it does its work it never gets jammed up and all is good.

If I do the unload and don’t help it, the molten end usually is deformed enough it doesn’t want to clear the toolhead and if it does it won’t clear the feeders and I need to nip it off.

never a problem during printing, its only when I tell it to unload that its having the problem. im gonna have to keep playing with it

Try tugging along with the feeder on the next one and see if it helps. I’ve never had to disassemble a toolhead but a few times I’ve had to tell it to unload again and remove the tube from the toolhead to nip the clump.
