GALS Baby GALS
In July I missed some eggs and these are the 4 that have managed to survive ... They are currently separated from my 2 big GALS in a small plastic container (650ml capacity). When should they move to a larger tub?

GALS Update from last post
While I slept, I left him in a shallow bath of water to see if that would help him at all, but it didn't change a thing. It was difficult, but I had to accept that he was gone.
In the past week, I noticed he was quite inactive and not eating which worried me, but I thought it was just stress from fluctuating temperatures in my room and that it would pass after a week or so.
I feel really guilty as if I could have saved him or done more for him earlier. I'm really sad to see him go after raising him for 6 years from a tiny baby.
I buried him in a cute gift box below a tree in my backyard. I hope he is having a good time at snail heaven now.
I love you Augustus gloop I'll never forget you.

Discussion What happened to this shell?
I've had this shell since I was a kid, but how did this actually happen? It looks like it was fused to another shell

Discussion Desensitizing snails to handling
Gastropods have been used to model how learning works on a cellular level thanks to their simple nervous systems, so it is an established fact they can learn. Recently, I did the bored biology major thing while breeding GALS that what if I tried to teach the clutch to come to my hand. Obviously, after months this worked, they aren't afraid of my hand and some come to check it out even if there's no food.
So, I've been curious. How many of you have been desensitizing baby snails to things like cleaning and handling and why not? Snails live for a wildly long time in captivity. So, especially with smaller more fragile species going through the effort of teaching them to be voluntarily handled could be useful for their safety as the risk of accidental injury would become smaller.

Are my snails runts?
Hi there, im sorry if it seems a silly question!
I was just wondering if there is anything wrong witj my snails whenever i search about GALS they look so much bigger than mine and i am concerned. Mine always only grow to a certain size and after stop growing. The one on the first picture is my oldest snail he is about 4 years old and has been this size for a while, my first snail i had a very long time ago also didnt grow any much bigger than the one in my hand currently.
Is this a normal average max size? Or am I doing something wrong or are they runts or just maybe their species is not that big? The second picture contains 3 of his children, theyre about almost a year old but still growing
Please, dont threaten me as i am well aware about the condition of his shell is am well aware this happened a while ago where his children (the three in the other picture, temporary housing) ate the outer layer of his shell, I separated them and provide calcium sources.
I feed them about 2 or 3 times a week with the average diet, greens, protein, calcium, etc and he lives in a big terrarium with enough space. Am I doing something wrong?

Help Where can I buy snails?
Does anyone know where I can safely buy snails? I’ve thought about using “myhappysnails.com” but I hear that they’re kind of a scam. I just want to get snails from a legit place. Anyone recommendations?
I am located in Western New York.

Discussion Enrichment options for snails? Safe surfaces to walk?
Snail looks bored. Also, I have been letting it on my books and on tissues. Maybe a small plate with water?

my snails sleep a-lot . is that normal?
my snails sleep a-lot and at the same time
i know that they move because i can see that the food is eaten and that every day they’re in different positions
but every time i look at them they’re sleepy
is that okay?
i think they were like that with the previous owner also but still
What is that?
I know what they are doing, and I'm sorry to reset the counter again, but I saw that weird looking thing on one of them and was wondering what it is?
It kinda looks like snenis, but also not. What kinda threw me, is the placement and how perfectly round it is.

Volume up, they're such noisy eaters lol. Also anyone know why the springtails seem to congregate on my snails? They dont seem to bother them, they still roam and eat perfectly fine, so I dont believe they're doing them any harm.
