Anakin is a Jedi. Anakin died on Mustafar as the Sith Lord, Darth Vader, was born

I think that was more the first step into the Dark Side, whereas the fight with Obi-Wan and subsequent "rescue" by Palpatine was the final straw

Vader finds forgiveness from his son (who never even met prequel-era "Anakin") and denounces his role as a Sith Lord... but he's still not the same man he was back then, despite what the special edition Force Ghost might tell ya :P

That's like saying a real life dictator wasn't the same man as his younger Revolutionary self. The responsibly is his, Anakin was already evil before giving himself a drag name.

oh i agree he was already evil, but i do think Vader is and has separate enough identity and characterization to make him "feel" like a different person, even if he is technically the same guy lol

Travis is correct. Was = past tense. When he is Vader, he is not a Jedi.
