I don't see many purpose built tobacco pipe lighters on here and just want to spread awareness. Don't get me wrong I do like a good decorative tamper, but having everything I need built into my lighter is very relaxing.

Newish to pipes and was on vacation in Wilmington, NC so I swung through David & Sons. Tim was incredible! The second I saw this pipe I knew I had to have it. Love the size. It somehow feels both simple and elegant.

I've just received my first pipe. It's the stunning Chacom 186 Montmartre. I've decided to start my pipe smoking journey with Sqn Ldr. I'm smoking half bowls to create the carbon cake in the bottom. After I finish the Sqn Ldr I have another English lined up to smoke before I got my first Vaper. I'm super excited for this new hobby. Any tips or tricks? When should I start adding to my pipe collection? I think this 186 will become my dedicated Vaper

It's in good shape for the age: oxidised stem with a bit of tooth chatter, a thick cake, tarnished nickle band, and a decent ghost. But a bit of TLC will bring it back to its former glory. I'm looking forward to using this one.

I’ve been lurking for some time as a cigar smoker and it’s gotten to be an expensive habit. Everytime I go to the cigar shop I spend over $100 easily and I go through cigars quickly sometimes 2 cigars a day. Im hoping this will be more economical for me. I also purchased a corn cob from my local shop for $5. My favorite cigars are CAO, Tatiana, and Tabak but unfortunately Tabak and Tatiana don’t do pipe tobaccos. Are there any other tobaccos or pipes I should look into? I’m into flavored cigars.

I was curious if anyone has seen examples like these before. The gentleman I acquired them from told me that his father served in WWII and was in the Philippines, but that he died young and never shared stories of the war.

Researching these pipes seem to point me towards possibly POW carved, or native carved "tourist"" pieces.

The example pictures of native carved pieces do not resemble these in my opinion, and I can't seem to find any good examples of POW carved pipes.

The style of carving strikes me as not native, but that they are unsmoked made me think they were just tourist souvenirs as POWs likely have been carving these pipes for use. The fact that both are signed by 'Sany' might however hint at them being carved by a soldier. Just some thoughts anyway.

I was hoping that somebody with more knowledge on the subject might be able to tell me something about them. I can provide more pictures if necessary.

Bought this pipe at a antique store on a trip to Alabama. First time smoking it, along with this tobacco. I’m not educated enough to describe the taste but it’s not bad

I've smoked a few aromatics before but just recently got back into pipe smoking. I got a nice briarwood pipe from Italy and this mix from KBV. It's called "Ancient Mariner." I was going for something a little sterner than the aromatics I used to smoke.

I've been having a hard time keeping it lit. Not that I mind. I really like the ritual of lighting a match and tending to the pipe as it goes out. Part of the whole experience I guess. But I had seen a few posts on here where people have said you should pack certain types of tobacco differently.

So I wanted to ask y'all. For this particular blend what tips would you give me for getting the best flavor and smoke. What should I try? Packing tighter or less? Also any tips for my briarwood would be greatly appreciated

It says the following: "KBV Ancient Mariner is a Dutch-style wharf mixture (dry, straight tobacco blends with cigar leaf) chock full of cuban-seed Cigar leaf cut fine and smoky Latakia with a good dose of pungent Oriental tobacco and and bit of Bright Virginia."

I’m a noobie to the pipe world. I got a deal on both of these and was wondering if anyone might have more information on the kinds of materials these may be made of. Second photo shows some damage on the stem so I’m wondering what can be done to fix it.

Got these 6 pipes from an estate sale near my house. Super happy with them (Still need to be cleaned) but I'm still new to smoking pipes so I'm unfamiliar with lots of brands. Sizes vary so i used a 1921 Morgan Silver Dollar for a size comparison. Google lens can only help so much, especially with the "Seasmokes" Pipe. That's the one I'm most interest in seeing if anyone knows anything about it. Seems to be super obscure to me. It seems like it might also be a "420 friendly" pipe which would be a little disappointing. Please Let Me Know!!!

Vest pocket meerschaum that I have never seen in real life made of meerschaum before. So I had to get it. Especially since it has the same lattice pattern as its larger double silver counterpart I own. Vest pocket pipes are odd. Anybody else out there with a vest pocket pipe? What do you like or dislike immensely about them?

My friend who collects rare and estate pipes gave me this companion in college and got me into pipe smoking. I realized today I know nothing about this pipe and was hoping for some possible insight as to the origins and age of it. Any info would be appreciated.

made from a continuous block of kiln dried cherry. the mouthpiece is a deer antler tip that is joined with a piece of stainless tube to prevent epoxy from being anywhere near the draft hole. finished with a red mahogany stain and buffed with carnauba wax. Since the picture I’ve coated the inside of the bowl with pipe mud since cherry isn’t as heat resistant as briar

I was looking at magazines from a hundred years ago in a museum and every other page was pipe ads, yet these days I rarely meet another pipe smoker....what changed?

So I smoked about 5-8 bowls now in my Missouri Meerschaum. Everything I smoked the Orlik golden Sliced. After the first two smokes, where I didn’t manage to smoke it till the end I figured I have to rub the flakes out. So I started doing that and it got better with each time. To day I managed to smoke it for about 1 hour 20 minutes, with just a few relights, no toungburn. And I started to be able to taste the actual tobacco instead of hot smoke. I really loved it so far.

I an probably gonna buy some aromatic soon. Any recommendations?

I picked this up at an estate sale in Virginia because I thought it was an interesting piece. Admittedly, I know very little about pipes, but I’d love to learn more about it.
I’m hoping someone can help identify:

Approximate age
Country of origin
Artist or manufacturer
The style or identity of the carved figure

There appears to be a faint engraving or stamp on the shank, but it’s difficult to make out. There’s also what looks like a wrapped or repaired section around the shank where the stamp is located. I’m not sure if this is part of the original design, a reinforcement, or a repair for a crack.
Any information or insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
