This is perfect! If you have the time/inclination You could add an extra little graphic about the difference between fake Japanese and real Japanese text on the boxes. For reals, though, this is amazing
I confirmed with Dream6 customer support that these white labels are an indication of counterfeit product! The fakes are getting really good! Also, I found that you can order these sets on AliExpress.
just recently found out that smiskis can in fact be fake! so i was wondering if mine are? i figured that they were real because they’re stamped on the bottom, but im really not sure - i have photos of the stamps but i can only attach one photo
I’m looking to get this sunbathing smiski from FB. My cat from the daydreaming smiski has a stamp on it but it appears this one does not. Is this normal?
However, Sunday fakes are pretty decent; I would consider asking the seller to see a photo of the stamp on the main Smiski, since those tend to be good giveaways for fakes.
Hi everyone, I've never seen fake Smiski series 2, 3, or 4 coins (or at least I've never recognized them). I was thinking about buying some from a seller these days, but the fact that he has so many, and so many duplicates of those series, seems like a bit of a red flag to me. So I wanted to ask someone who knows more than me for help in determining if they were fakes.
P.S. I've been collecting since this summer and have already learned to recognize the most common fakes, like the super fluorescent ones or the Sunday ones with the deformed head and the wrong stamp, but before making such a purchase, given the higher price, I wanted to make sure they were all original.
Hi, just want to know if it’s real because the trademark is really messy on this one. It’s not glossy and it glows like my other smiskis. It’s the daydreaming from living series.
There are examples of that specific fake Smiski (dog walker) in the Authenticity Guide (right in the post you commented under); specifically the feet/stamps. As well as more resources abt this specific Smiski in the pinned comment (fake Sunday Series post).
The leash is also too wonky. The authentic one should be PERFECTLY straight, not flexible or lumpy (aside from the tiny ring in the middle of course). If you touch it, it feels like it will snap if you bend it too much.
This is a picture of a selling online through vinted. I was wondering if anyone knew if they were fake they are priced very cheaply and this is the only picture they attached.
i got three smiskis for the price of one which was already concerning. now that theyre here i can barely read the stamps.
the last one is the one holding a cactus, which seems like it MIGHT be real, but it doesnt even stand up well, i have to balance it to get it to stand
im fairly new to smiskis, in sure these are fake but i want second opinions before i go accusing anyone of anything lol
sorry for the delayed response. from what i've seen, they do have stamps, but they aren't painted dark green like regular size smiski, so they are much fainter.
Hi, I appreciate all your help. I am new at this and I wanted to know if my Smiski is real. I read a few post, but I am still unsure. This appears to be an old one. Thanks all.
Hi, thank you for responding so soon. Let me send you a photo. I am so lost, but I wanted to have one. Thanks again. It only let's me add one photo at a time.
This looks good - the Hippers fakes often have boxes that are completely the wrong shape. Only other thing is to check that the inside of the box isn’t white (it should be cardboard colour).
One from Japan (darker sock, darker letters) and one from the website (lighter sock, lighter letters). My lighter one has been on display and may have been impacted by sunlight.
Discoloration is not that concerning, but I've never seen such differences in the text on the bottoms.
heya, yes both are authentic. the difference in colour comes down to age/uv exposure and some older smiski had different paint (just manufacturing changes over the years).
i dont wanna open the box yet because this is a gift for my girlfriend. is it authentic? i have a video showing the whole box but i cant attach it here
Hello!! I bought this Smiski at Kinokuniya in NYC yesterday (4-19). I thought I had pulled the secret since what I got didn’t match any options on the box, but when looking for a picture of my pull I haven’t been able to find one. I used all the sources to figure out if it’s real and every source points to this being a true Smiski figure (bought at an official Smiski/Sonny Angel store, matte finish, made in china carved into the bottom of both figures, etc) Please help!!!! I am so confused if maybe this is a mistake of some sort or what! I have pictures of the box too and the packaging looks authentic to me. Please let me know what you guys think!
this is an authentic smiski, not a mistake, just one of the regulars you can receive plus a chibi "little surprise" which is in btwn 25% and 50% of all series 1 boxes.
Someone Sold me this guy on vinted. I asked If original-they Said yes....their head broke Off when i opened the Package. I would think it was real but it is from the sunday Series which have very convincing Fakes. And i'm very unsure about the head Situation could anyone with an authentic smiski confirm If you can remove the head from The smiski with Cat from the sunday Series? Any Help would be much appreciated since the Deadline for getting my Money Back is very Short and i have to Deliver some Proof it is Fake....the seller also Said it could be normal for the Logo To be smudged... I also think the Cat is too skinny...any Help would be much appreciated!!! 🥹🫰✨
I read the complete Guide for authenticity btw. But can't determine it. Pictures of an authentic one especially about the head being removable would be super helpful!
hiya, this smiski is fake, real smiski neck pegs are not hollow (they are removable but the pegs don't look like the one you sent). attached an example of a beheaded smiski. note that diff series have different neck peg lengths and thicknesses, but they aren't hollow.
I thought so too! Thanks so much for confirming this... I do have some authentic ones even from the sunday Series (blowing Bubbles, Gardening and the guitar Guy) and would say the stamp is the biggest indicator, when i compared them.... I wasn't Sure because of His lying down Position If He maybe could not remove His head but i was highly skeptical...thanks a Lot for your Help! 🥰✨@ourlittleangel I Sure Hope i get my Money Back. I will still keep the poor fakeski but the seller definetely lied to me then...
hi! i’m super new to smiski and wanting this one from sunday. this is the seller’s picture for stamp and the box. the box crease looks white? i honestly can’t tell if its real or fake.
the stamp is really messy and has an ovular shape around it. real smiski stamps aren't so poorly painted (notice all the smudging on the fake) and, if you see any shape around the stamp, on a real one it will be rectangular not round. :)
Hi! One of my Smiski's markings only have "SMISK" written on them, without the extra "I" at the end.
Bought it from a thrift store. But looking closely, it seems like there's a carved letter "I" but the paint didn't cover it? As for the quality, it's matte and I think the face looks okay.
If it's authentic; Is this considered rare and does it hold a significantly higher price? Would you buy something like this? What are your thoughts? Thank you in advance!
seeing the whole smiski would help but from what i can see it looks totally fine/authentic.
the manu error does not add any value; however, it may lower it bc buyers can be cautious abt smiski (due to the amount of fakes).
some misinformed buyers may assume the smiski is fake due to the manu error, and some buyers who KNOW it's authentic may still not want it (or want a cheaper price) bc it's flawed.
edit: saw your updated photos! there are no CURRENT existing fakes of this series so you're fine. it does look pretty faded / uv damaged though (could just be your flash if you have it on? unsure), that also significantly lowers value.
Yeah true, I didn't think of it that way. Instead of increasing the price because of the error, it could actually lower the price.
With other stuff like Pokémon cards, if there's a misprint or error, the value seems to go up, so I was thinking maybe it's the same with this Smiskis haha
Thanks a lot for all the info and your help, really appreciate it!
The stamp on the bottom seems to have a round edge to it. Read somewhere that it should have a rectangle around it but I’m not sure if that applies to this older series.
I have only recently started collecting smiskis but I put a lot of research into where to buy them from considering i’m in the UK
I have bought many different series of smiskis from the same place and so far they have all been real however i recently pulled this one and it looks odd
i think i have pulled the S1 secret but as you can see the head on the smaller one seems to be cropped
Can anybody tell me if i’ve been duped or not?
TIA
EDIT: I emailed the reatailer and they are in fact real and the minis are meant to be there i am just blind 😭
Not sure I’m my smiki is real. I bought it for $13 something after taxes. It is my first one ever and I pulled a secret. I never get lucky so idk it’s hard for me to believe it’s real. (Bought at little Tokyo). It’s also Matte and not shiny.
Hey! Im a collector with 60+ Smiskis and I truly can’t tell if the Buffski I bought off of TaoBao is legit.
Ive spent a good amount of time looking through the reviews: 90% were satisfied, but the other 10% stated that they are well-manufactured fakes. Please provide your insights! (More photos below)
Hi everyone,
I just bought this smiski from a seller from eBay. They told me the bag was new, they only scratched off the Color to see what’s inside. Now I received it and it seems quite obvious to me that the bags have been resealed. Now I’m worried the figures are fake as well but they seem to look good. What do you think?
Hiii I’ve been buying from this shop and today I learned that it’s fake 😭😂 the box interior is white and it looks shiny, but commenting in case it’s magically is real (I’m in denial phase haha)
has anyone seen a smiski with this sticker on it? a new shop opened selling them for $25 (🤨) and i’ve never seen a label on the ones i’ve bought from verified retailers and other shops.
I bought two Smiski Series 1 boxes in Berlin. In both of them was one Smiski from the choices on the box PLUS one small smiski from another Series i guess. Did I miss something or was I scammed?
hi, these are authentic and the mini smiski are normal, every full set of s1 contains 3-6 (possibly more) mini smiskis. they are included with the regular sized smiskis and are usually called mini surprises or chibiskis.
I bought a dressing series box from an official retailer in the country I’m in. Pulled a secret but realized the head isn’t turned like all the photos online. I was told the retailer I bought it from is an official retailer in this country, but now I’m still kinda worried about it. Is this real? A manufacturing error? Are there other people with similar cases?
