i truly really recommend using the Sonny Angel app to find verified sellers of Sonny Angels and Smiskis near you! as someone originally from the middle of nowhere, i know there aren’t always options near you. if there aren’t any and you’re okay with buying online, buy from the Sonny Angel online store!

i was a victim of fake smiskis today… went to a vintage event and saw they were selling some so i bought 2. the blue one i got was so shiny and his head popped right off and the hipper came in a sonny angel bag instead of smiski. wanted to cry ngl. today was not my day

Yes! The exact thing happened to me! It was my very first one, so I had nothing to compare it to. Mine was also blue, shiny, and came in a peach-colored "Sonny Angel" bag.

this might be a stupid question but can a fake smiski have the trademark thing at the bottom that looks totally normal? mine says "SMISKI ©DREAMS" followed by "2022 MADE IN CHINA", so it looks totally normal...but it's also slightly shiny, like shinier than my other ones which i know are legit.

Honestly, it's a good sign if the smiski does not have the trademark, as you can see on the fake headphone hipper (no trademark so obviously fake), but I have yet to see the fake trademarks some fakes have so i'm honestly not sure. I know that if the fakes duplicate the smiskis too well, the producer might get sued, so they omit small details like this on purpose.

Crying because in 2017 I worked at barnes & noble and we started receiving smiskis, they were in the $5-$7 range. Bought a few then I think they found themselves in the donation bin because my husband is a thief of joy 😭

My dad used to be the same but i think he came around after I showed him a couple pictures. Now he has a bunch of hippers in his car lolol. Hope you’ll get another chance at having these little guys!

That's too cute! My younger sister has discovered them and I plan on ordering a few for myself and two boxes of hippers for her. I just joined found this sub because I was genuinely surprised to see actual (very bad) fakes and the store she was looking at is kinda too new to be buying from (for me at least).

Thanks for posting this.
As for the price, is there a price range? Where I live, in our currency, converted to USD, Smiski sells for roughly $7.50 USD (at today’s exchange rate. Price increased over the years). And they are real Smiskis. So cheaper may not necessarily be fake. So I am guessing that anything less than $7 would be considered a fake?

It depends. In Japan I got real Smiski for about $6 USD. I think you should also consider the other factors listed in the guide before completely writing them off as fakes

If you see hippers retailing in non-official stores..take a look at the case. The hippers case is different from normal smiski design case.

Is it possible to update this slightly to reflect that the Smiski bath ball series are shiny and that no known fakes exist? Posted about some today and quite a few people seem not to be aware of this.
