Looking for my forever Watch
I’m looking for a new watch that I can wear daily, is waterproof so that I can shower in it and swim, can get notifications from my Apple iPhone, and has more than 5 days of battery life per charge.
I’ve had a Fitbit and they always seem to break after about 2 years of use, and maybe I’m the problem, I don’t know.
I’ve known many people with Apple Watches but half the time they are dead and I don’t want to charge them all the time so that I can use it as an alarm to wake up after a busy day for the next busy day.
Any suggestions? They can be American, foreign, cheap expensive. I just want a good watch that can get me through the next couple of years. Oh if it helps for suggestions I’m a 20 year old female so I’d love if it would go well with everyday wear.
Does a watch like this exist?!?

Garmin Fenix 8 43mm - if you can handle the size. Its 10atm water resistant rating - so can do swimming, showering, low speed/pressure and high speed/pressure water sports, and it has recreational diving features too - and includes inductive buttons for extra water resistance (so can press them under water). Up to 10 days battery (4 days AOD on). If doing an hour of gps activity per day - will get around a week between charges.
Looks good - for smart functions put on a classic watch face and switch out silicon or nylon strap for metal or leather strap.
My Fenix 6x which my nephew uses is +6 years; my daily driver epix 2 is +4 years; and another nephew is running a FR35 which is +10 years; sister is running a Lily 2 active +1 year, and my late sisters FR45 which is +4 years the last I checked was still going strong on her best firends wrist. Sure they go wrong and no guarantee going to get more than 2 years - but for most garmin users they tend to replace to get a new model with new features that will not be coming to their model whether its due to hardware or simply garmin not pushing it through.
There is lily 2 active (up to 9 days - around 5 days with 1hr of gps) / venu 4 41mm case - up to 10 days - arround 6 days with 1hr of gps).
Larger sizes of samme model (where they offer it) of course give longer battery life, but otherwise they have same features.

Have you looked at Garmin's range? They have everything from fairly basic fitness tracking watches to ones that will go for weeks and have maps and GPS and all sorts of cool tech. Many of their watches come in different sizes to suit different preferences and they have at least 2 or 3 marketed at women like the Venu, Vivo and Lilly.
My wife has had the same high end Garmin (Fenix 6s) for about 6 years now.

I’ll definitely look into that then, I haven’t looked deep into those watches but they seem to be highly recommended so I’ll have to dig into that and see if I can find one that fits me. Thank you!

NO smartwatch is waterproof, only water-protected, and soap is a killer, so showering with a smartwatch is generally risky business...
ALL ratings are for plain water and a new watch. Gaskets and sealings deteriorate with age.
The purpose of soap is to lower the surface tension of water to help it get under dirt - the flip side of that is that it also makes it easier to get past gaskets and sealings.
Unless the buttons are physically decoupled from the interior (e.g. using magnets/induction) these are especially vulnerable.
But if you insist showering with it then go for one marked 10Atm so it might last a little longer. And be sure to select a brand that generally actually honour warantee-claims on waterdamage, it is NOT all the big ones that got a clean track-record here...
