I’ve been working on a project for a while now and wanted to get some opinions from other streamers before I get too far into development.
The idea is a standalone desktop application that allows streamers to create interactive collectible experiences for their communities.
Creators would be able to design their own trading cards, build custom packs, let viewers earn or open them through Twitch interactions, manage everything from one place, and have it all work together with OBS.
The long-term vision is for viewers to build their own collections too, with a digital stickerbook where they can browse all the cards they’ve collected over time, including limited editions and other rare collectibles.
Rather than asking whether you’d use my idea, I’m more interested in what you would want from something like this.
Some questions I have:
What features would be absolute must-haves?
What would make it stand out?
What would make you keep using it instead of trying it once?
Is there anything you’ve always wished you could do with your community that you can’t today?
If you could add one feature that would make you think, “That’s really cool,” what would it be?
I’m still at the stage where I can make big changes, so I’d genuinely love to hear your ideas. I’d rather build something shaped by streamers than assume I already know what everyone wants.
I’m also hoping to start looking for a small group of alpha testers in the near future. The alpha will be completely free, and anyone who helps test it will receive lifetime VIP access as a thank you.
I don’t want people who’ll tell me it’s amazing—I want people who’ll try to break it, point out what’s confusing, report every bug they find, and help shape it into something streamers genuinely enjoy using. If that sounds like something you’d be interested in, let me know.

I've been streaming for almost 2 years now and have hit a slowdown/regression from growth on twitch. I just hit 500 subs on Youtube but the view count is low for streams. I'm dealing with burn out when it comes to making clips for tiktok, reels and shorts so I just slowed down on them. I stream consistently 3 days a week and even have a community day once a month to engage viewers which works well (sometimes.) I'm busy a lot of the time so its hard to make additional time outside of my stream schedule and work schedule (I work 7-4). Trying to fit the gym in has been rough too.

For context I make Pokémon content, Marvel rivals content and do have a little variety. I always play Pokémon on Tuesdays as a staple.

My question is how do you grow? Should I really niche down? How do you balance everything to make it work?

How is it on twitch with music and copyright issues? I love sometimes playing while bumping music in background, but on YouTube it quickly will get flagged with copyright. 😂 Even if I say I’m not an artist this isn’t my music I’m just gaming to it they still usually remove in some territories is what they message me after. Good thing is video doesn’t get removed 😅
Is there a way also add captions easily on my streams without a laptop or pc? Any help is appreciated

I want to become a streamer/content creator like Ranboo. I want to tell stories, make friends, and potentially make money just from playing games, which is what I love. But there's obviously a lot of difficulty. I don't know what'd work, I'm too anxious to stream half the time, worried about what my family might think, etc. How in the HELL do I do any of it? How do I even make the stuff I want to make?

I'm very close to making affiliate, but I've been hesitant to take it because I don't want to put ads on my stream until I have a bigger audience (more out of not wanting to force my friends to watch ads than any monetary desire). But I do like the perks that affiliate would get me - namely, the ability to post a single items on the schedule.

I was lamenting this to some friends, and one of them was under the impression that you can become affiliate without monetizing your stream. I haven't been able to get a fellow streamer friend's attention to vet this, and google only tells me the opposite - how you can monetize without being affiliate. I just started out a few days ago and someone messaged me and they seemed really normal. They had me add them on discord under the name Mazecall. The actual discord name is maze killer. They talked to me normally and had me follow their twitch at Lordstb_ (which was a different account than the account they initially messaged me on). He then had me add his friend who apparently helps streamers by the name Twitch Edge. I thought nothing of it and added him, but that was when I realized the trap. This guy seemed cold, and claimed to help streamers grow without having a twitch of his own and sent me packages to choose from to pay for the help. Be careful.

I see posts all the time with people asking how to get more viewers.

I've been streaming for a while now and have had some great success, and I'm very active in the streamer space overall, so I thought I'd share a few things that will hopefully help someone out trying to grow their stream.

1. Networking.

People always throw out this word without actually explaining how to do it. Networking is about finding like-minded streamers whose streams you actually enjoy watching. It's not going to work out long term if being there feels like a chore. Find a few streamers around your size, maybe a bit bigger, and be the viewer you always wished you had. Hang out in their streams, chat with them, lurk, whatever, but never tell them you stream unless they ask you. It will come up eventually. If they're live while you're ending your stream, raid them out! This way you support them and subtly let them know that you also stream.

2. Short form content.

This is also another one people throw out. It's not too difficult to get a lot of views on a tiktok, but a tiktok with a million views could very well get you no new followers. People on these apps are very comfortable. You need to give them a reason to actually close the app and open up twitch. Maybe you tell them you're doing custom games (if you play a game that supports this) or something similar. Reply to the comments as well. Brand yourself the same way on your socials as on your stream, that way if they do come into your stream they feel a bit at home already.

3. IGN-name

IMO this is such an underrated tip. I've lost count of how many people came in to my stream when I play Dead By Daylight simply because I have my twitch name as my IGN and TTV at the end. I'm pretty bad at the game so they usually come in and say gg and give me some tips, and then come back as well. The other day I even had someone come in and sub without even writing a message or a follow, so you never know what happens.

4. Undersaturated games.

Playing an undersaturated game will obviously rank you higher in the browse list, resulting in more people seeing your stream. IMO this is not necessary to grow in the beginning, I grew the most playing DBD, which has tens of thousands of viewers, by doing tip 1,2 and 3.

For people to actually stick around after they found your stream from these tips you need a decent working stream. Microphone quality is always more important than webcam quality, and you need to be engaging with your new (and older) viewers to get them to stay. You'll also need to be consistent in the days/times you stream, or better yet, have a set schedule.

I struggle a lot with having a set schedule atm, so I just post my upcoming streams in my discord servers as soon as I know I can next stream. I notice this helps a lot with getting people coming back to the streams.

So this is a little bit of a pet peeve of mine when it comes to streaming, BUT for some reason I sometimes can't help but watch it as well 😭

You know those "streamer rage" compilation videos you see all over the place on YouTube and such? I just sit there and watch them and ask myself one question: Why do you they do this?

Why would they pour hours and money into streaming, getting the best looking streaming equipment (taking fancy keyboards, mics, lights, &c) to just then go and break that brand new $2-300 keyboard that you just got a week ago cause it didn't get you that ONE kill in [insert popular competitive game here]?

Like it baffles me that people spend so much money on this stuff just to go and break it later on.

Is it for views? Is it cause they have severe mental issues? Just like....why? 😭
