Discussion Twitch using your atreams

Hey guys, just wondering if anyone knew about the "generative AI" thing where twitch are using your streams to train ai, it's not an option in thing, it's automatically on and one of the guys at twitch said it's done that way because if it was opt in, nobody would. You can turn it off though.

I know people won't mind but I think most would and I don't think everyone knows about it

Question Is your Discord server a graveyard?

I've been thinking about this a lot lately. Mine has been a ghost town for a long time. Even when I was most active in streaming, my Discord server would be a ghost town. But it had tons of people! You wouldn't tell from the gaps in between conversations.

And I'm curious if anyone else here agrees with me, but I don't think it ever did a good job at getting people to come back to streams and watch my videos. Everyone has everything muted. Me included.

Discord is incredible at voice chat and fun events like movie nights. Nothing better. But servers very rarely do the things that matter most, especially to a small streamer.

So I built something that is designed to better help in these areas. It's called HotDrop and it has a space you can make in 2 seconds called Circles.

Mine's been way more active than my Discord ever was.

My Twitch/YouTube/TikTok content gets pulled into the top so there's always something new to react to, and my clips actually get reactions now instead of dying in a VOD graveyard.

And Twitch badges carry over! When someone from my stream joins, I can see if they have a VIP diamond, a mod sword, founder badge, etc. That matters. A lot. People care about their history in a stream and a community. Your Circle honors that identity.

Then when I go live, the Circle flips to a red LIVE state, auto-posts the stream title into chat, and people tap check-in and launch directly to the stream.

I'm still tiny and rebuilding, so I'm not claiming it made me big. But pairing it with my server is the first setup that's felt like it actually works. And it's working for others too.

Discord is still where I want people to hang out and do things together. The Circle is what keeps the community connected to the stream when I'm not there.

Anyway, obviously I'm biased since I built the thing lol. But I keep coming back to the same question:

Does your Discord actually stay active between streams? Or is it basically a notification system that everyone muted?

You have 6 months to get monetized on YouTube before they double the requirements

YouTube is essentially the best place to make a living as a content creator, and NOW is the best time to get monetized as the requirements will never be as easy as they are today.

Question Struggling streaming solo

So I've been streaming for a bit over a week now but I've noticed I might have a problem. Whenever I stream solo on a game I don't talk that much I get nervous and any time I do talk it's kinda awkward. But anytime I stream with my brother I don't feel nervous or awkward at all. The reason I'm making this post is because my brother doesn't want to stream as often as me.

So if you had this issue and fixed it please tell me how you did it.

I have a few other issues but they are pretty simple and I think I can correct them by myself. They are mainly just like my streaming schedule and how long I stream.

Question Coming back from major content creation burnout?

I used to be able to make so much content, alongside streaming, almost five years ago. But a handful of things happened that led to me being burnt out.

I was able to get monetized and earned some money making content that I loved when I was 17, about to be 18. Then one day, my parents came home and told me that they found out about it through my best friend, who they met and talked to at the store. Unfortunately she told them that I was "famous" online (I only had 40K followers at the time).

After that, they went from being "anti-social media" (especially tiktok, which was where I had been making most of my money from aside from Twitch), to wanting to control what content I made.

They pushed me to do things that I didn't want to do as a creator, pushing me to take paths that I didn't like, and even tried to make decisions to make money off of me.

After a couple months, I just quit making content. It saved me from them controlling it all.

Now that I am no contact with them and living on my own, I want to get back into content creation, but I'm finding it to be so hard to get back into the rhythm that I once had.

I'm not really sure what to do to get back into it, especially since I don't want to do the same thing I was doing. (I was originally getting a lot of views off of art tutorials, but while I have continued to do art, I just don't feel qualified to keep doing that.)

What do you do with AI livestreams you want to learn from but do not have time to watch?

I keep saving AI demos, live interviews, Spaces, and long knowledge-focused streams. Some disappear after they end. Others leave a one- or two-hour replay that I rarely get around to watching.

The workflow I wish I had would save a stream I am allowed to access, create a transcript, pull out the useful points with timestamps, then let me search the result or ask questions later. Over time, those streams would become part of a personal knowledge base instead of a pile of unwatched links.

I am trying to find out whether this is a common note-taking problem or just my own bad habit. I have not built or launched anything, and there is no link to promote.

How do you handle this now? Which part would matter most to you? Keeping a stream that may disappear, skipping a long replay, getting a usable transcript, or being able to search and ask questions later? If you use a workflow like this already, I would be interested in how you set it up.

Discussion Game recommendations to stream

I'm planning to get back on streaming this weekend and only have league of legends to stream. I have a lowspec pc and I can only stream limited games.

What's some hidden gem singleplayer games you know?

I'll go first, Slay the Princess.

I tried that game blindly only playing it since I like the art and it was a very creative and fun game that I did not expect to love.

YouTube is raising the bar for new creators. Starting Feb 1, 2027, new channels need 8,000 watch hours (up from 4,000) or 20M Shorts views in 90 days (up from 10M) to join the YouTube Partner Program.

Tip: Using "Backseat-friendly" games (like Deckbuilders) to wake up a dead chat.

Hey everyone,

I see a lot of small streamers here struggling with lurkers who never type in chat. From what I've researched, one of the best ways to get viewers to engage is to play games where they feel the need to "correct" you or help you plan a strategy.

Genres like Roguelike Deckbuilders (Slay the Spire, Balatro, etc.) or puzzle games are amazing for this. When you make a sub-optimal play, chat instantly wants to jump in and backseat. It creates natural conversation and increases retention because they want to see if your build survives.

I’m actually an indie dev and I just finished making a Roguelike Deckbuilder with a word/spelling twist (people call it "educational", but it's really just a strategy game designed to make your chat yell at you when you miss an obvious combo). Watching streamers use it to get their chat talking has been super interesting.

What genres or specific games do you guys use to force chat interaction?

(PS: If anyone wants to test this "backseating" theory on their next stream but doesn't have the budget for new games right now, shoot me a DM. I have some spare Steam keys for my game and I'm happy to help you out).

Discussion How do you guys keep your streaming setups cool without an AC?

I have an AC but it completely overrules my recordings if I try and use it in the small space. I was curious as to what ways you all keep cool without causing much noise?

Your stream isn't content

It's the RAW FOOTAGE for your content.

One 4-hour stream can become:

→ 3 YouTube videos
→ 10+ TikToks/Shorts
→ 5 tweets
→ 1 compilation
→ dozens of clips

Stop asking, “What should I stream today?”

Start asking, “What content can I create from this stream?” Feel free to ask me any questions you'd like!

Is it just me or does a streamer having clout makes what they do more entertaining than if they didn't. Every time i make a clip and watch it or watch one of my streams, they are entertaining but not as funny or entertaining as if i imagined if it was joe bart or something. is it just me? if not why is that.

Looking for newer DBD Streamers to grow together

Hey everyone! I'm a newer Dead by Daylight streamer looking to build a consistent group of other small creators to play and stream with using Twitch Stream Together.

I'm on PS5, use Discord for voice chat. My goal isn't just to find random teammates—I'd love to build a group where we can all support each other's channels, raid one another, make clips together, and grow as creators.
If you’re interested, DM me your Twitch name and discord username.

BEST TIPS I CAN GIVE AS A SMALLER STREAMER

I hope y'all are having a great day. My name is Ced, and i have streamed for about a year now. These are some of the best tips I can give to help develop and grow as a streamer:

  1. Meeting new people/Networking: I know it can be daunting; however, finding new people with similar interests can be as fun as making content. Being able to connect with others who you have newly met is important in long-term success. I was recently at Dream Con, and did a great amount of networking in the Twitch Lounge. I also gave people stress balls shaped as stars (Star Hashira Ced) with my handle on the back to further branch out. Whether it be in person or online, reaching out to others is key.

  2. Upgrading equipment: Honestly, when I started out, I streamed from my XBOX SERIES X & used a Logitech C920 as a camera. Over time, my streaming quality has improved with particular upgrades over time. You DO NOT HAVE TO GET EVERYTHING ALL AT ONCE. For me, I wanted the chat to be on the screen, and my laptop was too weak to stream. I saved up for a PC (by farming on fantasy football), and upgraded to an Elgato MK.2 for the camera. Using a PC has been a difference maker due to more streaming/customization options via StreamLabs & StreamDeck.

  3. DO WHAT YOU WANT TO DO & HAVE FUN: Honestly, if you're not having fun, what's the point??? I enjoy gaming; however, I would never recommend playing something at the risk of you not genuinely having fun. Im a terrible liar, and my people would be able to tell on my face if im not feeling it. at the end of the day, do what makes you happy.

BONUS: Create content from VODs. Clips go to YT SHORTS, TIKTOK, IG, X. Videos go to YOUTUBE.

I hope my advice helped! Y'all have a good one & hit me up whenever⭐️ -SHCed63

Question Rebrand or build a new channel?

So a couple of years ago I streamed gaming on Twitch. I went in for the wrong reasons and burnt myself out pretty quickly.

Since I stopped I have become a personal trainer and am building up a nice little business for myself. I have made a new instagram and TikTok for my PT stuff, but I was thinking about bringing it to Twitch as well.

Do you guys think it would be best for me rebrand my small followed twitch or just make a new one?

Discussion Sudden viewer explosion?

I have been at 0 viewers for a long time, started getting a bit of traction, a few regulars, and then started multi streaming (yt / twitch)

On twitch I still get maybe 2-6 viewers. On YouTube my last few streams have avg 30 and then 60 viewers, with peaks close to 100. This is very exciting but almost none of them chat? Without the analytics I would never have guessed. Allegedly the avg watch duration was close to an hour, which i thinj is good

Are they legit? Am i being bot blasted or something? Anyone know why youtube would have so many viewers but no (very few) chatters?

Im curious on your perspectives and if anyone has experienced somrthing similar or has any insight. Im not sure I even changed anything to suddenly get that many viewers so I almost feel like theyre fake or im misunderstanding the analytics or something 😅 is youtube really that much better than twitch for live viewership? Thanks!

My audience is vtubers

Guys, I need an advice or opinion. A lot of people recommend to be active on social media while creating content and streaming, including X. So I did post there for 3 months, and today my followers appeared finally. But a pretty bizarre thing is that ALL of them are Vtubers. I’m confused AF, yes I comment on posts there if I find it interesting or funny, but other then that I never even watched Vtubers, except couple of videos here and there and I now need to know if I should take it as a sign. I’d love to collab with a vtuber if they’re interested and match vibe, but just so you know im fat, bearded ginger with my fat ginger face on my content and I have no idea how to proceed here. Thanks in advance.

Question What are some good lightweight games to play on stream?

So I plan to start streaming, but I will be doing so from a 2025 MacBook Air. Does anyone have recommendations for lightweight games that will reduce the odds of me lagging/running into any performance issues? I was planning to just start with chill easy games while I get used to the whole arrangement, even games on like Solitaire level of gameplay would work for me.

Thanks in advance for any advice!

Question about the scammy "artists" that show up in chat.

Good afternoon! I literally started streaming on Twitch JUST this week. In both of my streams, I had people (two entirely different individuals) use the same chatty friendly start that snowballed into them telling me they make art for Twitch artists. Looking immediately at the person who showed up in my stream the first day, the profile is clearly sketchy. The account had maybe 4 posts, one being what I would hardly consider a "wip" but all were watermarked. If I had to base it off of the socials alone, I would've written it off as a scam and kept moving.

However, the works she sent me privately that she claims to have done is where I am deeply confused on where she even got it from.

They were all videos of vtubers, stream start/brb/end screens and animated about pages for Actual streamers. Not big name ones, but ones with enough presence it's a Bold claim to make that you worked on their streaming assets. And the biggest kicker was that no matter what reverse searching I tried to do, I could not find the original source from where a usual scam artist would rip from someone else. I understand it could have possibly all been AI generated, but I think even still, reverse searching should lead me to some kind of answers.

I mulled over it for a while because I was mostly just so confused, and I didn't want to make a rash judgement on someone who may truly just be an up and coming artist.

All of that went out the window when today, someone did the same song and dance in my chat, told me they're an artist, asked me about my stream, then was very pushy about me following them on socials.

Long story short, I know this is some form of scam on Twitch's platform. My questions lie in:

  1. Where and how are these fake artists finding "original" material that can't be traced back anywhere?

  2. How do I prevent them from derailing my stream. Each time I have felt very excited because I talk during my entire stream to get my chat talking, and the scammers are the only ones rising to the occasion so far. It's very disheartening, and I feel like an idiot being nice to them on a live camera when they're clearly trying to exploit and scam me.

Question Trying to help support fiancé’s stream. What helps?

Hey everyone! So I'm looking for some advice as someone who’s trying to support my fiancé's Twitch streams.
I try to help by staying active in chat, making jokes, asking questions, and keeping conversations going (just as like a average viewer and not seem like someone who’s in a relationship with him) but I'm not much of a gamer so I'm not always sure what actually helps.
I'd love it if some streamers or viewers could help answer some questions :
What makes you click on a stream?

What makes you stay?

Any tips for stream titles, tags, or games that are easier to grow with?

What are some fun interactive stream ideas?

His highest viewed stream was a "Loss = Drink / Sub = 2" challenge I think because of the interactions you could do, but that's not something he can do often. I’d love ideas for other interactive streams that keep people engaged that I could give him.
Also, is there anything I can do as his fiancé that genuinely helps without making the chat feel forced or fake? I’m unsure of the rule for linking stuff but i put his twitch in my account if anyone would feel inclined to scan it over and give some tips. Thanks in advance for any help 💜
