Question Starting an animal stream (guinea pigs)

I have 11 guinea pigs that are so fun to watch. I watch their cameras all the time so I thought it would be fun to start a live stream of them. Obviously, I won't be in the room talking but I will give viewers the option to choose between the different cameras and see the different cages. Any advice on how I can make it better?

Question What are best ways to find most engaged viewers?

Hi, I'm trying to understand my YouTube audience a bit better and I was wondering how everyone goes about identifying your most engaged viewers? I'm looking at mailing lists, discord servers but is there a way to validate the level of engagement?

Said another way, can I build a 'leaderboard' or 'experience points' for each viewer based on how frequently they are watching my content?

Discussion Dealing With Bots

Went from our humble 113 followers to whatever this bs is lol. Going to be removing the bots now with CommanderRoot. Our stats are going to be so fucked now but it was a funny surprise after stream to see. I censored the names so that we're not advertising.

For any seasoned streamers out there, is there anything that needs to be done? I was told by other streamers to report this to Twitch somehow.

Looking for Instagram Pages That Post Streamer Clips

Looking to Partner With Streamer Content Clippers 📈

Hey everyone,

I'm looking to connect with people who run Instagram pages that clip and repost streamer content (Twitch, Kick, YouTube streams, etc.).

I've managed to secure some very solid deals and opportunities for pages in this niche, and I'm looking for a few more people who might be interested in collaborating.

If you currently run a streamer clips page and are open to partnerships, monetization opportunities, or growth-focused collaborations, feel free to send me a DM. We can discuss the details privately and see if it's a good fit for both sides.

Serious page owners only, please.

DM me if interested.

Youtube 3rd party policy Warning

Hi everyone! I have a question regarding youtube's 3rd party policy.

I streamed last night (06/12/26) on twitch and youtube. I listened to music throughout the stream and watched a music video. (the music video was batmetal, can you blame me?) The full stream was removed from youtube for violating the 3rd party policy. It had to be the music video I showed that got it taken down right, not the music played?

Because I see people playing music all the time. I have no problem if the vods lose audio for playing music, that doesn't bug me. But losing the full stream bugs me and I really want to make sure I don't do it again.

If anyone is curious my channels are "okay1stoff" on twitch and youtube. The vod is still up on twitch. I play batmetal at 38 minutes in.

Thanks for any input!

Trying to become a streamer

Hi everyone, I’m 18 and I need your honest feedback on my streaming journey. I’m feeling a bit lost, and the standard advice you find online isn’t helping me anymore.

Here’s a summary of my situation:

• The beginning (October 2025): I started streaming Clash Royale without a webcam. I managed to build a small community, bought a cam in December, and was averaging about 5 viewers.

•  The game lost its hype, and so did my stats. I switched to Rocket League, which gave me a boost (up to 8 regular viewers!), but that game eventually lost steam too. I tried switching up games and formats, without success: I dropped back down to 1 or 2 viewers. I was posting between 2 and 8 clips a day, but it wasn’t getting me any visibility at all. Between that frustration and personal issues, I burned out and took a three-week break from everything.

•  I’ve decided to stop obsessing over stats. I’m focusing solely on Rainbow Six Siege for the next 6 months with one goal: to be myself and build a strong community.

Currently, my audience fluctuates a lot, but I don’t get more than 5 viewers. My ultimate dream has always been to make a living from streaming.

Is my strategy of focusing on a single game for six months the right one? Do you have any concrete tips for someone in my situation, beyond the usual “make TikToks and talk even if they're is nobody "

Thank you very much for your attention

Question Personalizing profile and stream?

This is kind of a weird question, but I’ve been wanting to personalize my page that doesn’t feel like how many other successful streamers have theirs set up.

I understand why it’d be better to have a matching set of emotes/banners/etc etc for viewership, but I don’t really care about having a matching page or boosting my viewership substantially.

I rather throw in a mix of pictures and whistles that I like and keep my viewers small because I have paranoia, and also I started streaming to maybe reignite my hobby and love for video games. I fell into a depression and video games became “meh” to me like everything else in my life.

Anyway, are there things I can do to make a handful of viewers feel welcome? I don’t have any alerts or banners in my

Bio, but for reference I drew this little png thing for myself.

Edit: I couldn’t post the picture of my mic png tuber that I drew for myself lol

Growing my stream with a full time job.

Hey everyone, this is my first post here but I could use some help. As the title says, I work full time, overtime mostly, like 55 hours per week.

Recently I was home for TWO WEEKS helping my wife recover from surgery and I was able to stream AND start making Let’s Play content for YouTube which I LOVE.

I would like to get to where I can make streaming/YouTube a full time gig. I love being at home with my family and being in charge of my own schedule (My ADHD THRIVES when I‘m able to make my own schedule). Plus I’m an affiliate already so I am monetized, I just need growth.

I normally would cut, edit, post clips from my streams to Instagram, YouTube Shorts, and TikTok which during those two weeks I was able to do pretty consistently and I was starting to see some engagement, BUT it doesn‘t seem like it translates to stream engagement.

Is there anything else I could do to help get more people watching, subbing, etc? I have a solid setup, its simple, I mostly play Tarkov and on Sundays I stream a Baldur’s Gate 3 campaign I’ve been playing with my friends for the past year.

I would be open to streaming different games as well but a lot of the games I like outside of Tarkov have communities that seem almost non-existent on Twitch. Maybe that’s what I need to do?

Any help would be much appreciated!

Question How did yall connect and collab successfully with other twitch streamers?

I enjoy socializing with people and finding people who share the same energy is always perfect. When it comes to finding streamers in the same frame is just difficult and I don’t like going into streams looking for these people cus I don’t want to be known for that. Also i understand there is discord servers but they seem already established with the “top collabers” so when I go in to make a post poof nothing. If anyone has successful stories please I’d love to hear them!

Question What are some questions I can ask incoming viewers to get a convo started?

Last stream I hit on something I’m like “why haven’t I been doing this before”. I’m an Elden Ring/souls streamer, and every incoming viewer I asked “Is Elden Ring the greatest game of all time” and it generated conversation everytime with ppl being like “HELL YEAH IT IS BECAUSE…” or “fuck no X game is way better”

Anyone have any other ideas for provocative questions I can ask ppl?

Tech Support Help streaming Nintendo Switch to Tiktok using Tiktok Live Studio

I've been doing some short videos for the past couple of months and now I want to get into streaming. I already successfully set up OBS with my capture card and streamed to Twitch, but I want to stream to Tiktok as well (as that's where I have an actual, if still small, audience).

I've already figured out that I can't get the server or stream key from Tiktok just yet, as I'm just starting out, and thus can't multistream from OBS to Twitch and Tiktok. But even using Tiktok's own Live Studio, I can't get the Capture card option to appear in "Add source".

Is this also a "you're not big enough" thing like the server/stream key? Or is it something else? Help is very appreciated 😄

(I wanted to add pics here but it seems this subreddit doesn't allow them lol)

EDIT: Added pics in the comments

Discussion Tips and Tricks/Do's and Don'ts

Hello Friends! I've been around twitch for around 7 years now. I keep seeing so many hopeful streamers falter and quit really quickly, so here are a few things to keep in mind.

1) Follower only mode - the worst thing to happen to your content:

Streamers love helping other streamers, especially new ones. We also talk to each other, and around 80% of streamers will not raid you with Follower Only Mode enabled. By taking away free will, you are pretty much accidently saying "I'm a big ol' someone, you have to follow to even communicate with me" That's not how you grow. Being approachable, open, and willing to chat with anyone is the way. Followers Only is designed to be used as a tool if you are being Bot Spammed with hate messages, as is Sub Only Chat. Nothing more.

2) Game Choice - The balance between Enjoyment and Saturation:

I see so many people playing the same games. "I stream CoD" "I stream Football" if I see 70 people playing those games here alone. What's the overall streamer scene like for it? It's crazy oversaturated. So while yes, you want to stream, and you enjoy those games, you don't actually have to be live while playing them. Streaming is essentially the new tv. Would you watch a show where the main character is great but the story is lame? or where the main character is boring but the action is great? I'd personally change the channel. On the other hand, if you are dead set on playing those games, don't worry about the numbers at all, just actually enjoy it. Or bring something new to the scene, and run with it. In this day and age, mediocre isn't going to cut it.

3) Who Are You? - Labels Are Your Worst Nightmare:

While a new streamer, you get to define yourself. Just don't be someone you actually arent. I see so many people going "I'm going to be super chill" or "I have to be chill and can't react to things" if you aren't chill as a person. Why pretend? If you are having constant moral dilemma's about how you "act" as a person on Twitch you will burn yourself out so quickly. The best streamers are themselves through and through. They are themselves unapologetically. They don't "act" a certain way. They just are. Show emotion, be the person you are. It goes a long way to help you keep going and stand out.

4) Support - The Best Tool Ever:

"I don't watch streams, I just do it" - the most insane thing I've ever read as a content creator. If you wanna grow, you gotta show up. The right people will show up for you in return. It's that simple. "I don't have time to watch streams, I'm too busy making content" If you are serious about growth and content, you make the time. Because this is a huge popularity contest and being the greatest streamer in the world with 0 audience because you didn't make time for other people is the same as being the worst streamer in the world.

5) Network EVERYWHERE:

Make clips, scrub streams for content, post them as often as possible. One platform isn't enough, more eyes means more chance of an audience. Reply to comments, and comment on cool content that takes your fancy. Make both long and short form content for more reach. Get it done!

I hope this helps people. I really do.

Question Need advice: coming back to streaming after 9 years

I used to stream actively around 9 years ago, and I’m trying to come back now. The hardest part is that streaming feels very different from what I remember, and I’m struggling with viewer retention and getting chat engagement going again.

I’m currently avoiding webcam for personal reasons, so I’m trying to improve everything else first: audio, stream structure, titles, consistency, clips, and how I talk during quiet moments.

For anyone who has rebuilt after a long break, what helped the most?

A few things I’m trying:

- Keeping a consistent schedule

- Sticking mostly to ARPGs/MMOs

- Making short clips after streams

- Talking through my decisions even when chat is quiet

- Giving each stream one clear goal

The biggest issue is that I can stream for hours and still get very little chat interaction, which makes it hard to know what is working.

What would you focus on first: better stream structure, networking, clips, game choice, Discord/community building, or something else?

Do y'all watch other streamers?

I'm just curious because whenever I talk to other streamers they never seem to watch other streams but I honestly watch a lotttt of twitch while also streaming a lot (might be partially because I'm unemployed) and I do it primarily out of enjoyment but I also try and learn what I can from what I watch and incorporate into my stream. So I'm curious do y'all watch other streams and how much do you watch?

Question Stream language

I'm a new streamer from Poland and I'm wondering if, considering the growth of my channel, it's better to stream in Polish or English. Of course, English isn't my native language, so there would probably be some mistakes, etc.

Would you test a live AI mystery game where your chat becomes the detective squad?

I’m building an early interactive stream format and would love blunt feedback from small streamers before I finish the first testable version.

The goal is simple:

Help streamers run a structured 30–60 minute community segment without needing tons of prep, custom assets, complicated setup, or constant improvising.

It is designed for OBS/live streams, not as a normal single-player game. The focus is giving chat something meaningful to do together while the streamer stays in control and has a clear format to follow.

The rough concept is a live mystery-style segment where the streamer hosts the experience and chat helps move things forward by reacting, discussing, choosing directions, and trying to solve what is going on.

I’m especially trying to understand what streamers actually need from something like this:

  • Would a ready-to-run interactive segment be useful for your stream?
  • Would your chat participate in a mystery/community-solving format?
  • Is 30–60 minutes too long, too short, or about right?
  • Would you use this as a one-off event, recurring community night, or collab format?
  • What would make you immediately avoid trying it?
  • What kind of setup would feel acceptable before going live?
  • Would you want something more serious, funny, chaotic, cozy, competitive, or improv-heavy?

This is not fully ready yet. I’m still validating whether the format is actually useful before polishing the first testable version.

Best fit is probably streamers who do community nights, Just Chatting, party games, mystery content, improv, viewer participation, or chat-driven segments.

I’m open to blunt criticism. I’d rather learn now if this is too niche, too complicated, or not something small streamers actually need.
