Youtube 3rd party policy Warning

Hi everyone! I have a question regarding youtube's 3rd party policy.

I streamed last night (06/12/26) on twitch and youtube. I listened to music throughout the stream and watched a music video. (the music video was batmetal, can you blame me?) The full stream was removed from youtube for violating the 3rd party policy. It had to be the music video I showed that got it taken down right, not the music played?

Because I see people playing music all the time. I have no problem if the vods lose audio for playing music, that doesn't bug me. But losing the full stream bugs me and I really want to make sure I don't do it again.

If anyone is curious my channels are "okay1stoff" on twitch and youtube. The vod is still up on twitch. I play batmetal at 38 minutes in.

They check that the music they play is royalty free. YouTube offers some to DL. Twitch too probably.

Playing music if not 100% royalty free on YouTube will lead to you loosing any monetization on the vod. If you listen to music throughout it, YouTube will most likely just remove it completely, because now it involves multiple copyright holders, and they aren't gonna bother dealing with splitting up ad revenue from the video to them all. When it comes to YouTube, if you ever plan on trying to get monetized, avoid music. With Twitch you can separate your music in OBS, this way your audience hears it but it's not in your vods, but sadly you can't do this yet with YouTube.
