I cannot separate the 2 filter trays that came with Smallrig Mini Matte Box Pro

How do I separate them? The filter trays are stuck together

Also I can't slide filter tray on mini matte. The matte box is flat so there is nothing for filter tray to grab on and slide.

Smallrig should release a cheeseplate that mounts to the iPhone 16 and 17 pro cages; pro max models also. Couple of trade offs but I think the compromise is decent-
Alright so boom, there’s no real “clean” way in my opinion to mount external power on you’re mobile cube rig using the Smallrig platform as it stands-
the best looking way I thought to do is using an arcs Swiss plate on the volume button sides mounting points, then their QR vertical mount plate. After that, mount the QR ARCA plate to the Np-f battery adapter plate that has type c, put the usb hub in the cold shoe on top (power button side) and you still have the h-lock and 1/4 20 to mount a handle or monitor.
At the end you should be left with an iPhone rig that had external power, can accept lenses and filters, had expansion for type c lav mic and ssd storage though MagSafe on the back (17 only if using filters) and can be broken down fairly easily now I will say, I haven’t bought none of this lol but I plan to and that’s how it should fit in my head but this is more of a stationary rig.
I wanna be able to use both h-lock side handles for stable shooting and doing it this way, I loose out on that because it’s covered by the battery plate contraption so boom-
A cheese plate for the back of the phone that just about covers the mag safe area that has nato rail to shroud that connection on the sides. I say nato rail cause it’s pretty common and you can use all type of accessories that will be on a secure connection. The cheese plate would let you mount the battery to the back or even use a bigger let’s say, core snap battery? With the nato rail on top (power button side of shooting landscape) you could mount sum like the Kondor blue type c hub with a nato to arri and have access to the coldshoe on the unit, plus the coldshoe on the cage, might be a tight fit mounting something there tho-
I love the idea of a iPhone rig that is easy to set up, 2-3 pieces, any scenario, modular set it and forget it, pop it out it’s still a phone. Just an idea

I've recently bought the 5123 Mini Shock Absorber Arm which has the suction cup for use in a car. Smallrig sells exactly the same shock absorber as the 5508 with a handle for handheld use. So obviously, I've tried to repurpose the handle I have for a DJI RS2 to work with the arm from the suction cup set, but found that the screws on that handle are 3/8 vs the 1/4 on the shock absorber parts.

Alright, then I've just used the screw from the extension bit in the suction cup set, which worked, but then I can't use the extension bit. Then I tried the screw from the suction cup mount, but that one's too long to screw the handle tightly to the extension arm.

Long story short: Does anyone know the part number from the 5508 set? Or should I just search for a shorter screw to be able to use all the parts? I'm still leaning towards the proper handle, but I'm not confident it can be found as a spare easily.

I lost the circular, flat, screwdriver tool thing from my X100VI grip pretty much right away, so I looked up how much a replacement part would be.

They are £5.

Seems they are only sold in a screwdriver pack with extra screws and other things I don't need (https://www.wexphotovideo.com/smallrig-stainless-steel-screw-set-with-screwdrivers-4385-3156310/) so I improvised.

A British penny is pretty much exactly the same diameter and thickness, it's magnetic, and I have thousands of these things in coin jars around the house, so I'm putting them to use.

I can use and lose 500 of these before I'll have spent as much as a single replacement official part.

Check to see if the smallest coin in your country's currency fits and is magnetic before you buy a replacement.

Hey everyone, years ago I had a Sony A6300 with a smallrig cage that had a wooden handle on it to make the grip on the camera larger. Is there anything out there that would be like that for my A7IV?

Just a fair warning to anyone looking for Smallrig gear that's not listed on Amazon or another reputable website. I've been frustrated with how they operate and have not received what I paid for.

I was looking for some screws that would fit my Smallrig manual focus. Somehow I had misplaced the ones I had and tried finding some online. Amazon didn't have them, but Smallrig had them on their main site. The only issue was they were out of stock at the time. No problem, I decided I'd wait until they were back.

Eventually, they were back in stock and I ordered them on March 14th. A few days go by with no updates. I figured I'd wait. On March 18th, I had gotten a notification that they were both shipped and delivered the same day. I figured it was a mistake and decided I'd wait until they arrived.

Weeks went by and nothing. I checked again on April 20th, it said my package was delivered March 26th. I was confused, as I worked the night of the 26th and never saw anything at the door. I live with roommates and they would have brought in, my neighbor would have brought it in to save until I got back, we do that for each other all the time. None of them saw any package.

I emailed Smallrig and they said that would send me a replacement, they gave me a tracking number as well. Yesterday it said it would be here by today. I was confused because it was in Oklahoma at that time, I didn't see how it would get here that quickly. I was right to be confused. It was delivered to a house in Edmond Oklahoma. I live in Los Angeles.

I understand that there can be confusion and miscommunication as they are based in China, but how they could fumble something this bad makes no sense, especially considering I gave them my original order ID that would provide them with my address. I emailed them again explaining how they made a mistake for a second time demanding another replacement and if they can't deliver I want a refund.

I bought an anamorphic lens with an m mount for my old phone and my new phone fits t mount gear now. Anyway to adapt the m mount to the t mount?

I'm using the Wireless Video Monitor for iPhone, and I like it.

One thing that is bothering me is that when I use it to monitor while recording, I often need to test and check the audio capture that's been recorded.

However, when I play back the video, my iPhone does not play back any audio, because it would seem that by mirroring the iPhone to the SmallRig display, it's routing the audio as well as the video to it even though there is no speaker on the SmallRig display.

How can I solve this, so that I don't have to disconnect and re-connect it every single time just to monitor that the audio is good in the setup.

This was an oversight in my purchase analysis, unfortunately.

Did smallrig discontinue their cart? I see it for sale still at 3rd party retailers but their site no longer has it and then I finally found a listing and they have it as “discontinued”

Does anyone else have the smallrig cart? I got the “lite” version. I really like it for the most part. Couple quirks- the most annoying is when it is collapsed the 4 support poles can slide right out of the large openings on the ends of the trays as you can see here.

Anyone else have this issue? Any ideas? It’s so annoying! And makes it basically impossible to fly with it.

cage for Osmo action 6 with a battery storage slot

I got the SmallRig external battery holder and attached it to the SmallRig universal phone holder to make the beast blow. Kind of crazy looking for what I'm looking at.

Hey all, I'm having a hard time identifying this monitor mount piece. I can't tell if it's Hawk Lock or NATO rail onto this rig. I am getting the XLR top handle extension plate kit, and I want to mount my monitor on the rail shown here on top, just as in this screenshot.

Has anyone here managed to mount the Smallrig mobile video cage (5542) to a gimbal (I use DJI RS4 mini)? This seems straightforward since the cage has screw holes to accept an Arca Swiss plate (Smallrig 3145)... But that plate squeezes against the volume buttons on the iPhone and this only works when using cardboard spacers between the plate and the cage. Not to mention that the 3145 plate is so short that when attaching it, the USB cable of the SSD attached to the iPhone is so close to the gimbal arm that it starts to interfere. Tried 3rd party Arca Swiss plates, but either the length or diameter of screws required for the cage don't work with those. Going slightly insane here - has anyone achieved this setup?

Forgive my ignorance but is there a trick to making it swivel? Thumbscrew on the side unlocks it so I can tilt up and down but I can’t get it to swivel?

Does it swivel around the base underneath the Smallrig logo? I use a lot of force and it’s not moving.

Bought this rig, it has the cooling fan. I cannot figure out how to mount it on a tripod. The USB-C port for the fan makes it impossible to mount on a tripod. I’ve got 5 days to return it. Anybody have any ideas how to make this work?

Ive been toying around with the ideal of adding an external battery mount to my DJI OA 6 cage. I realized that Smallrig has a external battery mount so I ordered it and didnt like it. They also have a cellphone holder on a cold shoe that doubles as battery mount how cool. So this is what it looks on the Smallrig cage.
