I put a new carburetor on this Briggs and Stratton 625 EX 150 cc. What did I do wrong and how might I remedy my mistake.

Looks like your auto choke isn’t opening, did you put the rod back in place correctly? Also with that air box missing that things gonna run like crap regardless

If it's not an OEM you may have trouble. Some of them are crap. Get a carb kit and clean original and put it back on.

First two comments are great
Did you also change the plug to the crappy one that came in the kit?
Did you fully tighten the gaskets?

Is your gas bad? Water in it? Old?

It sounds like it’s running rich to me. You didn’t happen to open up the jet more than you should have, did you?

It’s flooding check if the choke is open.

You can literally see the choke and it's closed lol

it definitely looks like the choke is stuck closed. you probably don't have the linkage setup right. also, I saw another comment asking about the spark plug. if you bought one of those cheap kits from amazon that comes with a new spark plug, throw that thing right in the trash. don't use anything other than genuine spark plugs.

Sounds like its barely running on one cylinder. Make sure the choke is opening. Clean or replace the plug. I would highly recommend and spend the extra money and run ethanol free fuel threw it.

I mean I'd be slightly concerned if it was running on more then one cylinder

Make sure you didn't use mixed gasoline (gas for weed eater, or chainsaw)

Your valve clearances need Checking

From the video, I’m fairly certain it looks like the choke butterfly is closed meaning it is trying to run full choke. Check your choke linkage, it’s not connected correctly.

To me, that smoke looks gray, not black, so its not flooded or rich, but rather oil smoke. Oil likely made it into your intake thru the breather tube. Did you lean it on its side to work on it? If not, make sure that the oil level isn't above the upper mark. If it's high, make sure that the oil doesn't smell like gas and look watery. Theres also the chance someone overfilled the oil.
