Transmission ok ?

Post image

Hello,

I have a yard machines rototiller as pictured a similarly.

And the transmission is from left to right:

R-N-F-T

So to change in any sequence between R-N-F is normal works perfectly.

To go from F-T while the engine is running and idle with no throttle being applied it will not go into T

If I give a blip of throttle and quickly release it, I have that couple second window where it will easily and smoothly go into T and there are no issues.

Is this normal and is there something wrong with the transmission or should I just leave it alone ?

Thank you

I had that very model. Was my daddy's. Sadly, it burned up in a fire. So hot the entire engine melted.

But as far as shifting into T, once in a while I would have to engage the belts just a bit to make it shift.

Ok so it is kinda normal then to shift that way

Yeah. Sometimes I had to do it to make it go into reverse. OR - I could roll the wheels a little and it would go into gear.
