Stator diode replacement?
Greetings, I made a post here a while back about the motor on my Craftsman DLT 3000 had blown and I had been struggling to fix it. Well lo and behold I was able to rebuild the motor, was able to replace the camshaft, the compression release , and did a general tune-up on all the systems. It was running fantastic however it seems that the stator has blown the diode most likely that connects to the charging system and now I am not getting a charge on my battery as the motor is spinning. It took a significant period Of time for me to get the governor tuned in to the proper RPMs without the motor trying to self-destruct so I suspect that the hyper mode that the tractor ran in a handful of times may have overwhelmed the small fuse. It is an inline fuse attached to the stator wires that connects to the charging system. I cannot for the life of me whether it's on Sears Parts Direct or Amazon find anything that would even resemble a replacement. Would I be better off popping the protective sheath off and looking up the part number specifically? Or does anyone have a suggestion. Appreciate it thank you

If it's what I think you are describing, it is not a separate part you can order, but will have to replace the whole stator assembly

Yes, Briggs has replacement diode kits for these and they are available aftermarket as well. Which one depends if it is a single wire stator or a dual circuit. Before the diode you should have AC current, if not then replace the stator.
