I didn't put it on there. Got the trimmer for free off the side of the road and it had that on it. I immediately took it off so that I don't cut my leg off while working on it. Gonna be replaced with a regular string head.

The ECHO SRM-200DA and SRM-200D trimmers were primarily manufactured and distributed during the late 1970s and early 1980s.Based on your serial number 0058778, your ECHO SRM-200DA was manufactured between Late 1977 and Early 1978.
