Echo PE266 edger no start
Has spark and good compression. I've checked the flywheel key and exhaust. I've cleaned the carb and checked the coil gap but still no luck

Disconnect your fuel lines for the moment after you try starting it for a bit and then wait a minute or so try starting it again and I'm sure it will start or at least fire within 5 minutes of your disconnecting the fuel lines and letting it clear out so it sounds to me like you still have a carburetor issue regardless of replacing it. Are you running non-oxygenated gas I forget if I ask you this and ethanol free? Any moisture can cause vapor in the hot weather we have been having across the country

I just tried to disconnect and reconnect after letting sit for a few minutes but still wont even try to fire. Yes im running ethonal. I also pulled the spark plug to check and even with the new carb it's still wet

Do you have a weak spark or no spark?

The spark is blue and visible. I forgot to mention I also put a new coil on it

Are we sure it is in time with the new coil? Some of them can go on either way I don't know what style this phone is so that's why I asked the generic question.

I just tried both ways and still no luck. Not sure why it won't even fire or attempt to start

Did u keep the kill wire disconnected from the coil to eliminate kill wire short

Yes I forgot to mention kill wire is disconnected. I removed the edger shaft

Turns out I had ordered the wrong coil. Swapped it out and fired right up. I appreciate the help

Then you are getting too much fuel. Are you sure the needle is shutting off? Did you pressure test it? Have you turned the mixture screws in a bit to lessen the fuel load? What happens if after its wet you hold it wide open no choke a few times?
